The Westmont Apartments reviews
9 Still terrible here. Note that the only positive reviews here are about a maintenance person.not building reviews. It's a scam from the building to get people to post positive comments.
This apartment building is terrible. Avoid at all costs. I'm currently living here, management is awful to deal with. They were raising rents like crazy during coronavirus, and adding amenity fees up to $1000 per year when all the amenities have been closed during coronavirus. Gas was down in the building for months. They are trying to pretend it's a community and upscale apartment building when it's nothing of the sort. The rooftop is nice. That's about it, everything else in the building is sub-par and much higher than average rent, which they will try to raise by 10% to 20% as soon as your lease is up. Don't make my mistake, find somewhere else.
Look at all the other terrible reviews if you don't believe me.
Jamall was extremely helpful and came right away to fix our leaking A/C unit. So nice, friendly, and polite.
Jamall is a great service tech! He is very helpful, resourceful and easy to work with! The staff are all great and the building is clean, has great amenities and it is an absolute pleasure living here for 3 years.
Jamall from the Service Tech team is awesome! So glad he works in the building. We needed some help in the apartment and he came the rescue with kindness and patience. Thank you, Jamall!
I want to acknowledge the front desk staff who add a measure of security for residents. They are courteous and welcoming when entering the building and process a large number of package deliveries. As a resident, I appreciate their presence in the lobby
Anthony at the front desk is the most positive part of the building. He is effective, friendly and positive. Love him!
DO NOT MOVE IN! The staff is biased and discriminating! I have depression and anxiety issues. While I had made clear to the staff that I am uncomfortable receiving their phone calls on my personal phone number on the lease, they just keep calling. Their staff is completely unhelpful and rude. In addition, this place has extremely outdated facilities. The elevator does not work, the AC is terrible, and they can't find your packages very often. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!
I am fed up with the LACK OF MAINTENANCE in this building! Essential systems just keep breaking down. Today, it's below freezing outside and the Westmont has NO HEAT. It's broken with no repair estimate in sight and no full-time maintenance staff (I'm told they quit two weeks ago).
So, I'm going to list a few more things that are broken and haven't been fixed in the hope of helping anyone who is considering living here.
My front door lock stopped working a week after I moved in. People have come to tinker with it repeatedly, but it hasn't been fixed or replaced. Maintenance likes to say they are "going to get a part and will be right back. " They don't come back and there are no spare parts.
Even when the boilers are working, my apartment is cold and drafty because the windows are old and they leak.
There are only two elevators and they break down every month or two.
Washing machines in the laundry room are breaking down and not getting fixed. We are now down to only three that are not out of order. This entire 16 floor building has three working washers and falling.
I made the mistake of renting in this building without reading past reviews and regret it, so I hope you are reading this BEFORE signing a lease. Don't make the same mistake I did unless you want to spend a lot of money to live someplace cold, drafty, and literally falling apart.
I was excited to move into a so-called "luxury" building, but this place a kind of a dump. It looks nice in photos but in person it's dingy. Worst of all, the staff are stressed out and unhappy, which just makes for a bad experience all around. They have a roommate matching service here, so the turnover rate is really high with nonstop move ins and move outs and it feels like living in a college dorm.
