The Wildwood Sanitarium, Salamanca NY

This place was well worth the 3.5 hour drive from Ohio. The history tour was insightful and well done but the ghost hunting was next level. It was just the guide Zack and I spending an hour and a half hitting all the areas and boy were the spirits talking today. It’s the perfect size place where you can spread out and explore it all without being cramped or rushed. If you have the ability to get out to the area and you have any interest in the paranormal you’re doing yourself a great disservice if you don’t pay a visit and experience things for yourself.

This incredible and historic location should be a must see and must stop when traveling through NY! The owners, Brooke and Laurie are restoring the old building back to glory and doing the original owners proud! The Doctor's would be so happy to know the healing that continues today! I actually got scared heard a voice say my name out loud several times. The spirits kept us up all night! I lived at the conjuring house for a year and this place was a 100 times better. Highly recommend?

Took a ride with my niece to check out The Wildwood Sanitarium and have dinner afterwards. It's a year round place where some very popular "ghost hunters" have been who've signed their names on the walls there! It's located in the middle of a normal neighborhood, which felt very strange! The owners are doing a lot of work on repairs such as a new roof etc. There is a lot of history that our guide Zach, explained to us, very interesting indeed! There have been reports of spirit/hauntings there and I must admit in 1 room I felt uncomfortable pressure in my chest. There was also a pendulum over sand which was barely moving, as I was mostly watching it while we talked, the line in the sand went further than the pendulum was moving, I mentioned this out loud and my niece said she too noticed but neither of us wanted to say anything. Zach showed us pictures on his phone of elaborate swirls in the sand which happened without any one around in a few moments while he was there working. So weird! He also told us a group of people were coming at 7pm to stay overnight in the house! Very brave! I recommend checking it out! It's a few minutes from Ellicottville, totally worth the visit!

Saw the TV series about this house being haunted. They say strange occurrences happen on the third floor. Not able to go into home since it's private.

The history tour takes about 1 hour to complete. Laurie gives a lot of history lessons on the building, it's previous owners, uses and experiences people have had there. We had black shadows blocking our viewfinder, so asking the entity to please move helped get nice photos in. Restorations are going on throughout the building and it's good to see it going back to it's original glory, a little at a time. Fun adventure and worth the stop.

Well worth a visit, even just to learn about the history of the house. Dale gave us a tour and is super informative, a really nice guy and very knowledgeable!

Amazing place to stay or visit. I was invited as a vendor for a canna event. The owner is a wonderful woman. Shortly after setting up, I walked all through the sanitarium. Certain parts gave odd feelings. Electronics didn't work that did before arriving, but worked fine after leaving. The guest book has amazing encounters documented Ron the overnight guests. The walls tell a great deal of stories. Can't wait to go back for the next canna event.
