The Works Cafe, Latham NY

My sister and I recently had lunch at The Works Cafe in Newton Plaza, Latham, and we were very impressed with the quality of the food, service and atmosphere. TWC is really alot like a fancier Panera. You can get breakfast, lunch and dinner food there; the coffee was good. The staff at this location were friendly and helpful. The tables and bathrooms were clean. We'll definitely go back.

The smoothie was good, but after ordering online the bagels were hardly put together. Everything was a complete mess. They also included bacon on one of the orders which was not requested. Not everyone eats everything whether it be for dietary or religious beliefs, so the sandwich was completely inedible. The wrong bagels were also used to make the sandwiches. Probably won’t return

Joanna took such great care of us! We came in a half hour before closing, unbeknownst to us, and she was so kind about it and made us feel really welcome. Amazing service and great food!

The overall vibe is incredible! The staff is very friendly and personable making each customer feel welcomed and special. I was complimented on my food selection and encouraged to try new things on the menu! The Chocolate peanut butter smoothie is my go to but this time they suggested adding a protein boost and a shot of espresso! A few extra dollars was well worth the spend because that smoothie was beyond delightful! Bring on the suggestions with that great customer service and I will continue to come back! Ohhhh and I learned about the app with earning rewards points! What? Free stuff? ! Yes please! So excited to go back again!

Great food, got a BLT and it was delicious. Very friendly service. Definitely one of my post workout stops.

Good service but the food was subpar and expensive, do a little too much with the breakfast throwing things in that aren’t listed on the menus. Ended up not even eating the breakfast. Coffee was disappointing

Joanna made my first trip to The Works Cafe an excellent one! Very personable and took her time with my gluten sensitivity/wheat allergy.

The cafe isn't so bad if you are ordering from an app. Even though sometimes they will substitute a pastry with a wrapped dessert. I can't stand when they do this because I didn't ask for a raspberry blondie and it is not the same as the original pastry I ordered. I went to the actual cafe on 12/10/2022 during the afternoon.and I was not having it, I left early. I sat where the employees enter and leave the cashier area. I am of an hourglass type build so I like when people are respectful of space. I saw employee after employee bust open the door where they exit and enter into the register area. That is so inappropriate and not all employees did this. If you have a car and you're opening the car door with traffic coming by do you swing it open non chalant with no regard? NO. They literally kept busting open that door so wide that it came near the area where people are sitting. I had to scoot my chair. One can't be this absent minded. Think of other people. I respect the guy in charge who told the rest of the employees to include desserts in people's order so that customers don't have to keep getting up to get their dessert.
Speaking of, their best desserts are the danishes and croissants which are usually always sold out.
Overall, this place is best when you order from the app. I wouldn't come here again.

Since you wanna delete my first one a purple hair was found in my drink and all of my food was made wrong when I paid extra for modifications. I would never recommend eating here. If I could give this place a negative 5 stars I would. Staff are rude and managers are not helpful. Overpriced and horrible customer service.

So glad that we came here. Excellent quality ingredients and an extremely friendly staff. Very family friendly. We will be back!

The male employee was obviously high as a kite as I arrived. Zero social skills gave my name, and proceeded to not give a tip, which maybe led to me not getting good service. Watching him struggle to make a sandwich for around 10 minutes is highly disappointing.upon finishing the sandwich, he never announced that it was ready and proceeded to help a new customer. Two female employees noticed the sandwich just sitting there and apologized and seemed mortified at his service. Never again visiting this place

The food is pretty good enough, but the service was absolutely terrible. We were next in line, and waited and additional 15 minutes, as the woman at the restorer was chatting with the group of 4. Not moving them along or anything as the line started getting bigger and going out the door. I saw people leaving from the line and almost did so myself. Not sure if I’m coming back after that.

Bagels are the same quality as Dunkin bagels. Super cinnamon barely had any cinnamon sugar on it and was bland. The bacon egg and cheese bagels are nothing special.

They are stingy with the cream cheese! Manchester Ctr location is the best!
Plus one time I was supposed to get a Farmer’s Veggie on a works bagel. I received a works bagel with mozzarella cheese, tomatoes, yucky spinach! That was such a huge disappointment of course my bf stopped in there and brought it home so we weren't going to go back to Latham! I only took two bites but the disappointment was too much and I tossed it out!

We stopped at around 130 today for lunch. My Kiddo got a breakfast sandwich? Which he said was delicious. I got a gf mozzarella sandwich with added chicken, but when I got my sandwich, no chicken.
We got our order to go so I didn't have time to go back and have it adjusted, but I am more than confident they would have if given the opportunity.
Love that there is GF options. We will definitely be back.

The bagels are very good. Would definitely recommend. However I had a coupon for a free latte figured I would try it. Nobody asked if I wanted it sweet. Was gross and bitter even after adding a sugar, tasted awful. Threw out.

This is a great place to have a peaceful meal. The food is delicious and their menu has a ton of variety.

Yummy! Just got the 'Double Dag", it's yummy & very reasonably priced! Only thing I did wrong is forget to ask it be toasted! The cafe is very clean & inviting, the staff very friendly, & welcoming. I have a new lunchspot!
