The Wren, New York NY

Hosted an event in their downstairs room and it was great! Elizabeth who does their special events was phenomenal to work with and was so communicative throughout the entire process. Maxwell who was the manager on the night of the event was so kind and helpful. The whole staff was great. Only thing I’d say is that the downstairs room is said to fit max 50 people for a private event and we had 30 and any more would’ve been tight.

I dare say the best chicken sandwich I’ve ever had, and I’m quite the chicken sandwich connoisseur! The burger was also phenomenal. Good outdoor ambiance!

The service here was awful. Five us stopped by here after dinner for a drink on a Friday night around 9: 30pm (i.e. Not late). We were given a table outside. After 10 minutes someone came by and dropped off two large water bottles with no glasses to drink the water and quickly hurried away. After another five minutes (no one has come by to take our order), we flag down one of the group of employees standing around the entrance talking to one another. One of the servers comes over and takes our oder of cocktails. Following the order, we ask for water glasses and the server told us there aren't any because they are running the dishwasher and that they are "busy". Why didn't they tell us this when we sat down? Wouldn't this impact the timing of the drinks we just ordered? This restaurant has been around for years and they don't know how to properly stock their establishment with glasses? Ridiculous.

I don't know what it was about this place, but left feeling very uninspired.

Came here for drinks, and when we got there the host was going back and forth on whether we would be able to sit outside or not: Snip, snap! Snip, snap!

We did end up getting a seat outside, and the ambiance was nice but the traffic going up and down bowery had me unable to hear my own thoughts at points.

After a subpar espresso martini, I pivoted to a Watermelon High that also ended up being subpar. Just a bit too sugary for my liking.

Wish I could give 3.5 stars, as this was the poster child experience for 3.5 stars.

Was there for a private party in their downstairs room. Nice ambience, delicious cocktails, especially the Chamomillionaire. Buffet had very limited options for me, as a vegan, but that may have been the fault of the hosts, not the venue. I only had the falafel, which was deep fried and a bit dry. Overall, we enjoyed ourselves. Upstairs looked like a good place for young people to mingle. Bar was packed as we were leaving before midnight.

Had to kill a bit of time before a flight, saw a bar with (literally) my name on it, and decided to drop in for a drink to see if it was worth visiting. Delighted to say yes, it absolutely is. The cocktails were delicious. The food was pretty good! I would maybe add mustard or something spicier to the veggie burger. But the bartenders and staff are really what made this random couple of hours in NYC really fantastic. Thank you to Kianni, Tyson, Liz, Sav, and everyone else for creating an ambiance of fun, and serving up great recommendations with very casual, friendly hospitality. They went above and beyond to find me some Wren merch to bring back home, too. Will recommend this spot to my city friends and hope to come back to it someday!

We sat in the basement which was pretty groovy. However, the music was unnecessarily loud, the drinks were expensive and only just average. Definitely with going once.

Honestly I couldn’t find a fault with the meal, service, or ambience. If I must suggest what could’ve been improved, it would be to have sea salt flakes on hand rather than fine sea salt. Sea salt flakes are more fun, easier to sprinkle, more visible in the dimly lit bar area, and just better.

Nice spot and great vibes for date night or cocktails with friends. Drinks are excellent! We didn't have a reservation so we will have to come back to try the food. Enjoy!

The Wren is always great. Bar food made excellently. You get a grilled cheese and tomato soup thinking it will be good and it’s actually the greatest soup you’ve had in your life. Cocktails are A+ as well.

The drinks were good, but 2 stars because the server added additional tip to my bill. I had left a $6 tip on a $27 tab (I had already left a 22% tip), but the server ("Cori" according to the receipt) decided to up this to $8. Some people might take a different attitude towards this kind of casual dishonesty, but it drives me crazy. Especially because I'm sure it goes unnoticed 99% of the time - I just happened to reconcile my charges against my paper receipts this month.

A nice spot to go with friends and share drinks. Ended up here with a group and sat in the back. You seat and serve yourself on Saturday nights. Bar staff friendly enough.

Can't speak for cocktails, but beer selection ok. It was quite busy and remained busy into the evening.

Small but very lively bar. Great drinks. Nice staff. Cozy old bar/building atmosphere. Good bar food.

Great design, chill atmosphere. The staff are consummate professionals. The cocktails are sublime, but what I'll forever remember about this place is that they make the greatest turkey club sandwich of all time. I mean, I just wanted a snack to go with my drinks, but then they go ahead and shatter everything I thought I knew about bar food and serve me a sandwich that made me consider the existence of a god again. Don't doubt me. Order this sandwich, and thank me later.
