Third Avenue Ale House reviews
19Used to go to this place really frequently when I lived in the area and it was always super good! I would go almost weekly for a few years and only had good experiences here! I have not been here in quite a while but I would still strongly recommend you try this place! The nachos are definitely worth getting!
Great spot for a happy hour with colleagues, but food is always a miss. Staff is very friendly and attentive
Plenty of hot cocktails on the menu which I love and the spiked cider is delish! I also had the tomato soup which was perfect and cheesy. And they had a good variety of draft beers
Was a nice evening. Could have been better if some UES family hadn't brought their yapping dog to dinner. Barked at everyone and everything that went past. That wasn't the restaurants fault just some people who need to check their privilege. Food and server were good. Vibe was dinged on allowing the pet.
Really good food and friendly staff great options for everyone and an excellent drinks range.
Great vegetarian options. Nachos are a standout and selection of beers on tap is extensive.
I had the unfortunate experience of meeting one of the owners here. Not at all helpful and some of the worst customer service I’ve ever received. If you’re gonna hire bartenders who don’t know how to make simple drinks, maybe train them.
Pizza was liquidy. Not a good adjective for pizza. Couldnt even pick it up. They should rethink their entire pizza concept to resemble pizza, esp given the price.
Nachos were great
Chicken tenders were literally burned so we didn’t like it much
Also we order a margarita and the glass wasn’t even full
Okay experience but won’t be coming here again
Inexperienced kitchen and management make for a sub par experience, but would be a great episode for Bar Rescue. As much as I wanted to like this place, it came up way short on just about every level. My wife ordered Ruben Egg Rolls which were basically pockets of hot oil, probably from oil not being up to temp before dropping them into the frier. Then half way through my chicken club sandwich, which was pounded super thin, dry and served on a stale hamburger bun, I realized the lettuce was wilted all over and bacon was way undercooked. Starving I chose to pick off the undesirables and finish the sandwich. Since we were seated in the center of the bar area we no waitress and had to order from the bar, so I brought my leftover ugly fixings to the bar just as a heads up of what was coming out of the kitchen. I thought the wait staff would appreciate the transparency, otherwise they’d wonder why no body was coming back for more. I was told by the manager who happened to be right there I should have told her and she would have had the kitchen fire another. Well, a little to late for that. She failed to make it right. Hope they fix things or I see this place going downhill real fast.
Great spot after long night at work to eat. 1st spot's kitchen was closed so we ended up here. Super cozy outside. Great drinks, the food was delicious. Glad it worked out. The only mini issue was they can't allow outside dining after midnight. But no star lost for it.
This place was amazing fantastic staff and great food. The band had thier St. Patrick’s parade day party there
They handled the plus 300 crowd like it was nothing.
This is what $15 nachos look like here. A little bit of the toppings in the middle top layer and that’s it. Worst nachos ever.
The staff is nice and the selection of drinks are good but the food is never worth the price.
Go here for a drink and then keep it moving.
We came for appetizers and some Allagash White. The tornado tots were soooo good. The nachos were also excellent. Service was great, we had a great night!
I have lived in this neighborhood for 20+ years. I am a small business person, and prefer small businesses.
I have an Autistic son and he is well known in the neighborhood. He was banned recently by Third Avenue Ale House and he was in compliance with ALL NYC and NY State regulations when we tried to eat.
I reached out to Management privately and they have not responded. Thus, I had to turn to Facebook.
It is a difficult journey for our Autistic population, and I am disappointed that I had to leave this public review of a "neighbor".
Great local spot serving the neighborhood. Fast and friendly service. Best nachos I've ever eaten, worth it for only that. It's a go too. Deserves 5 stars for its genre but save them for only fine dining experiences but don't let a missing star detract you.
Another awesome upper east side gastropub and craft beer bar. Great food, great service, and a great selection of 30 plus craft beers. Same owner as AMSTERDAM ale House at 76th Street.
The food is ok. The place is very overpriced for the serving portion and the quality of the food. It’s not worth the price. My husband got a mashed potatoes side and it did not taste good.
It’s a five star neighborhood bar. Ample outdoor seating, attentive service, and good food. Very dependable. The burger Monday and taco Tuesday specials are a great deal.
Only con is they add a credit card surcharge fee to their bill.
