This company will overcharge you later without any explanation. I recommend renting a car from another company.

Please don’t waste your time booking here. They never have cars even if you arrive @ 9am with a reservation. Zero flexibility. Rude staff.

Horrible wait after we made reservations 30 days prior, while waiting 2 hours there is no where to sit. I would not recommend this company to an enemy.

I don’t recommend this agency to any one, don’t rent a car here NEVER! The treat that we have received from the staff of the company in the JFK aeroport in NY was totally unacceptable. Since the beginning they were putting troubles on us not to give us the car that was prepaid (six months ago). We have been talking with our travel agency while we were there and either way the didn’t bring us any solution, because they didn’t want to talk to them. They were telling us very bad words and even saying things to us like “do what they want, they are not going to have the car, we only want them out from here”. Apart from that they were telling us invented policies not to take our cards, saying that we needed to proof our itinerary if we wanted to take a car or that we need to saw all our personal details of our trip in order to have the car that we booked. They didn’t have any cars and t giving to us not to give us the car that we paid. I need to say that I was sawing them their company policies about all those “rules” that they were telling us and non of them appear on there web page. This is not the way you should treat someone that is a tourist with difficulties in the language that is not theirs. Since the beginning the saw us like “trouble makers” (said by their own words) only because we didn’t want to pay 700$ more to have one of the only available cars that were there. I don’t recommend this agency to no one in the world, there are thousand more agencies that are going to treat you better than them. I really recommend you hertz.

Pretty horrible attitude. I walked in, said hello while walking to the counter. The lady worked there said hello and I started to ask if there was a car available. Instead of answering my question, the lady questioned why I didn’t say hello back. So I understand that she didn’t hear my greetings but so what if a customer doesn’t say hello. You definitely wouldn’t be happy if you rent a car here. I would rather walk in 95 degrees out there for 10 miles than rent a car in this company.

Terrible! Maybe they offering a lower prices, but the terrible service discourages all desire to cooperate. Ordered a car for about 3 weeks in advance, after waiting in office for 2 hours nobody told us approximately waiting time and we left. It's only a waste of time! If you going on business, better choose something with better rating.

Very rude front desk employee. They open late, though the listing here says 24/7 they open at 6 AM. They don't expect people to show up at 6, so start processing at 6: 15 AM and are pushy in selling addons which are not needed. They she also made me upgrade car as they did not have car i booked. Very poor customer service.

PSA they close at 10pm

If you need to pick up a car after 10pm or your flight is late night with potential delays dollar still closes at 10pm

Justie, the rep for thrifty, is the nastiest, souless human being. She is rude, lied in our face when her supervisor showed up. Reservations are good for 24hrs. Flight came in on time at 1130PM. Went to pick up car and thrifty was closed. Returned the next morning and Justie says "she is not and will not honor any reservations. " With a prior reservation, there are no vehicles available for pick up, no matter when reservation is scheduled. Bottom line more could have been resolved if Justie could communicate effectively and treat people the way she wants to be treated.

Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. $15 admin fee tacked onto a $0.35 toll bill is bs. Oh and they can tack on up to 6 of those admin fees to your bill.

Biggest scammers on the planet. A two day rental went from 168.00 to 400 dollars. If I didn't have my young daughter and it wasn't freezing cold I would have left without a car. I will be filing a complaint on this location to the better business bureau. Customer service is terrible nothing but attitude like they're doing you a favor. No the customer's are keeping your business running. Maybe you should act accordingly

Thrifty is terrible rent car.
Service and staff are really bad and focus on taking money from customer.
In addition, 20days after returning car,
Suddenly they charged from my credit card $337.47 without any explanation. Pls provide detailed cost breakdown.
I already paid all the money and closed the contract with you

They take booking with a debit card but won't give you the card without a chipped credit card for the hold and credit check. No refunds either. Absolutely avoid.

Not a good experience. I won't use them again and would not recommend.

Booked a rental ahead of time for a quick two day trip. When we checked in, the clerk started adding on fees left and right. She also wasn't that personable or friendly, for that matter. Once we checked in, we were told there was another person in line ahead of us waiting for their car and that we would have to wait until they were taken care of.

We waited about 20 minutes before getting the car, which is beyond confusing, considering there's at least a hundred cars sitting in the lot. By the time we got our car, there were 5 different groups of people waiting for their car that had checked in after us. I have no idea what could have been taking so long.

The Google hours listed are 24/7 yet when we came to return the car, there was no employee in the booth leading to the security gate, and there were no employees in the building with the lights off and doors locked.
I tried to call the phone number on the website, which was literally no help as the woman wouldn't give me any information until she could confirm our rental booking, which she couldn't seem to find. She insisted we didn't have a booking, although I gave her all of the information printed on our receipt. I spent a few minutes talking in circles with her and got no help.

Several other families were trying to return cars at that time and faced the same frustration.
All of us ended up letting ourselves into the parking lot and leaving the car off to the side with keys inside so that we wouldn't miss our flight.

Poor customer service, hidden fees, and terrible organization. It was a mistake booking with them last minute, and I'll continue to book with Alamo in the future since it's right next door.

I am really surprised that this location is still open. They are understaffed, falsify documents and more. When I came here to rent a car, despite having reservations, I waited about 45 min. When I finally got the car, it was empty on gas, while the documents claimed it was full. When I brought it to thier attention, they made is seem as if it's my fault. I will never rent from this company again at any of thier location.

Rented through Priceline which was my first mistake.
Pre-paid the entire amount upfront and then when I got to the counter they charge me an additional $125 plus a $200 security deposit. Took a GMC to rain from JFK to downtown Manhattan and got a right front tire flat. The tire was going flat for awhile but there was no place to stop. Was told I can change it myself or wait 2 hours for someone to come change it. So we put on the spare, which was also flat. The girl at the front desk was very nice but other than that it has been a horrible experience dealing with thrifty. I have an account with enterprise and I will never leave them again.
