Cuban Restaurant Tina's reviews
11The place is perfect to eat good Latin food at a very good price in Manhattan. The taste is very good, the staff is very attentive and the place is quiet and cool.
Mediocre Cuban food, not the most authentic.
Their main dishes are authentic enough (e.g. Picadillo, ropa vieja, etc.). The “pernil” (which is more of a PR/Dominican term because in Cuban culture this would just be lechón asado) didn’t have enough mojo so it was kind of dry. Their Pan Con Lechón is also called a “pernil sandwich…” The fried yuca is more a bag of yuca fries. I asked for Cuban pastelitos and they showed me empanadas. Also, fully expecting the green sauce to be cilantro based and it’s definitely a spicy salsa. Desde cuando tenemos picante or salsa verde en Cuba? Also, no croquetas or materva here. I will say the moros are pretty good. To me it’s more of a 2.5. Not your best, not your worst. Cuban enough to be okay but not to be amazing. The staff looked super confused when I asked questions.
Had the Cubano and that was just awesome. Loved it and will definitely come back to try other entrees and sandwiches.
No frills resto serving some delicious Cubano food. I had the fish stew and it was delicious.
I was looking for authentic Cuban food and I found this place in the corner of 34 street at Madison Avenue.
The food is clean and tasty, I enjoyed the chicken and guava
Empanadas, in the past I ate the spinach and cheese also
delicious.
The place is simple, clean, and attentive customer service.
Highly recommended!
Try something different and check out this amazing, friendly Cuban establishment. Not many places to sit, but great place to grab a quick fulfilling bite to eat, when you're on the go.
A friend of mine went there for lunch and one of the employees stole her wallet. The staff refused to look at the camera footage even though her Airtag showed it was in the restaurant. After my friend said she was going to call the police they did find the wallet "in the trash. "
Do not give your money to this restaurant, as the staff is not honest and will cover up for each other.
The staff at the Madison Ave location are thieves. Stole a wallet and lied, lucky there was an airtag that showed it was there, then all of a sudden they found it in the garbage!
I wouldn’t go back because of the service alone. I wasn’t even greeted when I greeted the ladies working. They laughed and spoke in Spanish which they shouldn’t assume people don’t understand. My food was thrown on top of each other and I wasn’t asked which beans I wanted. The food had good flavor but I had lost my appetite before I even tasted it. I threw the pernil out. It’s actually tasted old. This was just my experience and my taste buds. God Bless.
The flavors here are authentic. This was always my secret lunch spot when I worked nearby. A Pernil sándwich and a side of plátanos. While today I usually do take out they still have tables inside.
Tips: when you walk in admire the display as it will help in the decision making process. If you want a Cubano sandwich or any other sandwich walk to the back. The guy making the sandwiches had his own station.
The stews are great the beans are awesome and if you need a little something extra…an empanada is the rock star move
This place has become overpriced With entrees starting at $16 barely any seating in the back they got rid of tables
The food is still great but only worth it if you split the portion into 2 or 3 servings and they give you wayyyy too much rice
