Best DMV experience ever! I just moved here and would need my driver's license and plate replaced. The staff was extremely helpful, friendly, and got all the paperwork done in 30 minutes while answering all my questions professionally. Fantastic service!

I know this is a ridiculous thing to type. Okay? I know. But I love the Ithaca motor vehicle department. They are so freakin friendly and professional: like better than Discount Tire good. The line moved quickly- people smiled -we made mistakes on forms and they were patient and explained (and re-explained nicely).

The woman that helped us three months ago remembered us and asked us how we were, as if we were all sitting down for coffee and cookies. It’s really nice to have ambassadors like that for such a great city.

I wish all government businesses were like that. If it weren’t for their inability to capture my mug in a less than flattering manner it would be perfect. Yeah: that’s their fault!

Probably the fastest, friendliest, most efficient DMV in the US. Staff are helpful, patient, and incredibly sweet! Not to mention easy parking, nice office, usually short lines, well organized, etc etc etc.

Tompkins County DMV was so helpful. I made a common but potentially disastrous mistake on some paperwork. Cortland County DMV had an attitude of "too bad, so sad" and their only recommendation was nearly impossible to fulfill. I was a basket case but tried Tompkins County DMV. They were like, "happens all the time, here's what to do". Paperwork completed in 3 minutes. Team member #8 was helpful, professional, friendly, and a life saver. I will definitely make the trip to Ithaca again for my DMV needs.

No line out the door and friendly, courteous service... Are we sure this is a DMV? !? ! I went in at 11: 30 and left before noon. I didn’t have to take a number and I was only in line for 5 minutes. The DMVs in California need to take note!

The gentleman that helped me was absolutely amazing! Thanks to him I was able to get my ID taken care of and found out how much I owe.

In a world where DMV employees usually don't care in general, the ones in Ithaca are just great. Anytime I've gone in, the office has been busy, but everyone is nice and they're very efficient.

Never have I ever had such a pleasant DMV experience. Everyone I talked to was super nice and Brenda was so so helpful.

Customer service was horrible. Manager was rude, and one of the staff members tried to refuse to give me back my license while I filled out paperwork. Go anywhere else but here.

30 minutes to get a learner's permit. The staff is quick and ready to answer all questions. A frictionless experience if one has everything prepared in advance. Overall the facility is clean and has sanitizers at every touch point, the staff is courteous and all processes are well defined.

Road test instructor was a miserable young lady. She yelled at my daughter before she even observed how she drives. Daughter passed drivers Ed 100% and had wonderful record driving for 10 mos This thin skinny young lady had black hair and wears a hat most days is known to fail most people. Total intimidation the whole 5 min Would not recommend to go to Ithaca we went elsewhere and she passed with flying colors 3 days later.

Horrific experience. I had all necessary paperwork and the clerk denied my driver's license exchange from Florida

I have NEVER ever imagined that I *could* want to leave a positive review for a DMV. But wow. I hit that green smiley face button as I left the Ithaca DMV enthusiastically. While I was in there, no one waited more than a minute in line. The attendants were friendly, upbeat, genuinely kind. They were informative and understanding of the challenges in supplying many forms of verification for a drivers license. While I was there someone walked in and was greeted by an attendant as they began jovially discussing solutions to a certain issue. This DMV belongs in a Hallmark movie about small town kindness. The DMVs in Charlottesville, VA could NEVER. Thank you.
