American Restaurant Tom's reviews
15Loved the place. It still keeps the original style of dinners vibe from the early 80's Memorabilia of Seinfeld us nice. The food was good and not expensive.
Overall terrible service. Loud fat guy forgot half our food and ignored us after dropping some of it off. Never checked in on food refills or any of that. Then when up to pay and dude didn’t speak to us or look acknowledge at all. Just took the card, pushed over the slip and walked away.
When I first walked in my initial thought was wondering how little diners like this were holding up against more modern options.now I know. Entitled & outdated, left such a bad taste in my mouth, no pun intended.
Service attitude not friendly, and no bathrooms working either. Do yourself a favor and go to le monde across the street for better food, service and working bathrooms
The atmosphere of the restaurant has a very American feel. The main menu was good, but I personally found the hot chocolate to be very sweet and delicious! I think it would be perfect to go in and drink on a cold day
Title: A Classic Delight at Tom's Restaurant: A Seinfeld Experience
Rating:
I recently had the pleasure of visiting Tom's Restaurant in New York City, and as a fan of Seinfeld, it was an experience filled with nostalgia and culinary delight. Located on the corner of West 112th Street and Broadway, this iconic eatery has been serving up delicious meals since 1940, and it truly lives up to its reputation.
Atmosphere:
Stepping inside Tom's Restaurant felt like entering the pages of a Seinfeld episode. The walls adorned with quirky memorabilia and familiar photographs instantly transported me back to the beloved sitcom. The cozy and vibrant interior, combined with the buzzing energy of fellow diners, created an atmosphere that was both comfortable and lively.
Service:
The staff at Tom's Restaurant were friendly, accommodating, and efficient. Despite the restaurant being busy on a Friday night, our server greeted us with a warm smile and promptly took our orders. Throughout our meal, they ensured that we had everything we needed, and their attention to detail added to the overall positive experience.
Food:
Now, let's talk about the star of the show—the food! Tom's Restaurant offers a diverse menu featuring classic American comfort food, and we indulged in a variety of dishes. The burgers were juicy, flavorful, and cooked to perfection, satisfying even the most discerning burger connoisseur. The pancakes were fluffy and accompanied by a generous serving of maple syrup, making for a delightful breakfast-for-dinner experience. As for the mozzarella sticks and chicken fingers, they were crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and served with a side of tangy dipping sauces that enhanced their taste.
Value:
Considering the quality and portion sizes, the prices at Tom's Restaurant were reasonable, aligning with the average prices in the area. The affordability of the meals made the dining experience even more enjoyable, as we left with satisfied appetites and wallets.
Conclusion:
Tom's Restaurant is not just a place to have a meal; it's an iconic New York City landmark that encapsulates the nostalgia of Seinfeld. The friendly atmosphere, attentive service, and delectable food make it a must-visit for both fans of the show and food enthusiasts alike. Whether you're craving a burger, pancakes, or a taste of the Seinfeld universe, Tom's Restaurant will not disappoint. Make sure to visit, and prepare to create your own memorable dining experience.
Remember, "No soup for you! "
The food was good as well as the service. It was crowded and we felt rushed to leave though.
Great little dinner. The inside is not the same interior as the show Seinfeld, but they have lots of cool little memorabilia around the restaurant and make a good play at the connection to the show. Great service and great food.
Visited for a Seinfeld pic, stayed to eat because of the fun atmosphere and classic diner food! Was a little busy when we went, but the staff are very efficient and we had our food in front of us quick!
My husband and I came here to get a little away from Times Square and he’s a huge Seinfeld fan so why not. I would say it’s the best breakfast that I had while visiting New York. Will definitely be back!
I have been visiting Tom's for a while when I'm in Morningside Heights. The service and ambiance are excellent. The food is pretty darn good, but it's my only reason for leaving four instead of five stars. Tom's has typical NYC or even slightly higher prices. I know the place is a draw because it's the "Seinfeld" restaurant. Again, I like the food there, but I just can't give it five stars. Tom's is an excellent spot to drop into after you're done walking around Columbia and checking out St. John's.
The food was great, the service was good, and the atmosphere was great. I had a salad with grilled chicken and ranch. It was reasonably priced and refreshing.
It makes you want to watch again the show. The food is honest and the serving is fast. And they had a great herbal tea.
The lox eggs Benedict and the cornbeed omelets were amazing. Cool place with lots to look at on the walls. Everyone still loves Seinfeld.
Excellent spot for a bite. Not wildly busy. And you gotta get the Seinfeld picture! Parking isn't too too bad plenty of spots right on the street.
