Trackside Restaurant, Utica NY

The food was absolutely delicious. However, when I first arrived (around 1 p.m.), it wasn't clear whether I should wait to be seated or just sit down, and there was no one to be found. I finally found someone who explained there were only two of them there that day. I had a seat, ordered a drink and a Treasure Salad, and it took the salad 35 minutes to arrive at my table? The wait was far too long as they were not that busy, so I will not be back. The salad and the salad dressing were magical, however, and the server was quite nice.

Just had our company Christmas dinner and I'd give it 10 stars if i could. Service was fantastic! Food was amazing! The hosts were attentative and just did a fantastic job. 16 of us. It was wonderful! Will be back for sure. Plus it's such an amazing building! Thank you for a wonderful evening!

Food was fantastic. Wait times were a bit excessive. Once seated took well over 45 minutes to get lunch. Understand because no one wants to work anymore. They did the best they could. Will definitely go back.

Highly recommend this restaurant if you’re from out of town. We are from North Carolina and order by phone for a catered funeral luncheon and everything was great! The food was delicious and everyone commented on how good it was.  The staff was very attentive and helpful.  It ended up being an easier than expected end to a hard day for my family.

Wow epically terrible & disappointing. We heard this was a good place. We loved that it is in the historic train station so we wanted to try. We spent over 200$ and I have never felt so ripped off. By managers admission, the website is NOT what is available in the restaurant. No booster seat even though we added it in our reservation. Drinks - No Pinot available, vodka soda served warm w no ice- no ice- who does that?
Apps sucked- greens were bland & flavorless no seasoning or spice. All dinner pasta served cold- meat on top warm. Portions small for $25+. Burnt frozen hamburger (forgot the cheese) served to my daughter, originally told there was no kids food available- I guess this was payback. Riggies bland no flavor or spice. Osso busco in same bland sauce as riggies. The chefs should be ashamed of themselves and should find new work. I can make better Italian food at my house easily.
It was like I had COVID and couldn't taste anything. No dessert offered don't know if they have any even though my daughter wanted some.
I can't imagine anyone wants to have an event, reception here. Women's room filthy and broken. This is a historic space that is being wasted. Can the owner of this restaurant please, please explain why it is so bad. Met out of town family here expecting good Utica ITALIAN food and were embarrassed we took them there and had to apologize. Servers were good but no training or they would not have serve the food.

Good place to eat out. Service was good. It's a great way to sit and enjoy the architecture of the Utica train station and a meal at the same time.

I’ve been working with them as a vendor for years. Always a good relationship. I finally went to eat there and everything was amazing. I ordered the Greens and Riggies and they were awesome. The greens are not over cooked and mushy. They are cooked just enough to still have their snap. Excellent place to eat.

I'm reviewing this establishment as a former employee & you could say customer since I also enjoyed a meal almost every shift courtesy of Rich & Cheryl; The Owners.
I spent alot of late nites in this kitchen contributing to what came to be successful bridal showers, weddings, occasional live music acts as well as some holidays like ringing in the New Year. So I can honestly say I've never came across a Chef like Richard and I've worked in numerous restaurants all over CNY including The Capital Region.
Keep in mind he, his wife Cheryl & their two grown children not only own the "what is? " that makes up Trackside Restaurant & Banquets, they devote their days to running the establishment along with a handful of dedicated employees. But what I'm trying to get at is, most places I've encountered, you wouldn't dare catch the owner getting their hands dirty & definitely not taking the garbage out. If it was a really busy weekend for regular business, then add a wedding reception for 120 ppl, naturally all sides "Of the House" would be slammed obviously.
Well this guy would jump rite in the "Dish Pit" so to speak & just do what needed to be done without the whining/crying, if a skillet Seared Salmon or Bacon Wrapped Filet somehow came out wrong or the customer was dissatisfied, he would rather throw it away, make a whole new entree just to make sure it was proper & the customer pleased with their selection.
Now I can tell you something, many restaurants would not toss a $30.00 entree in the trash to just make another, matter of fact I've witnessed meals hit the floor, be picked up & repositioned on the platter with a garnish, then "Ring, Ring Order Up",
I sh** you not.
Well you won't find that disgusting business practice at The Trackside Restaurant, not with the amount of energy & heart they pour into it.
So support local business as well as your stomach with a guaranteed to impress experience all around!

Went with three others for dinner. Waitress came over to take our order. At the time it was our group of 4 and a table of 8 in the restaurant Two of us ordered chicken riggies and two ordered chicken Parm. We also ordered Utica greens for our appetizer. The food was fantastic with the stuffed long hots that came with the chicken Parm special was the best. The only issue we had was the wait time. From start to finish, 3 1/2 + hours with long wait times between appetizer, salad and main meal. Wait times and prices would probably keep us from going back on a regular basis. The long span between appetizer, salad and main meal and getting our check took away from the excellent taste of the food. Great place if you have three to four hours to spend for dinner.

AMAZING! Amazing wait staff and the food is to die for. No joke. I recommend this place to everyone that will listen.

Just had my daughter's baby shower at Trackside, they could not have been more accommodating. The service was excellent, the food phenomenal and they let us decorate as much as we wanted. They boxed up the left over food and cake. Amber was the best, I can't say enough about her. Definitely would recommend this place for a party. Everything went as hoped, thanks to their professional and top notch service. Thank you again Trackside!

It took an hour to get our food but it was worth the wait. Probably due to staffing issues and large parties.

Wow just had the chicken cutlet OMG gotta be the best meal I've had hands down and the service was excellent

Had our wedding reception here. Great to work with! Excellent waitstaff! Fantastic food! Amber and her staff created an event that ran seamlessly and smoothly alleviating stress! I highly recommend this professional team for your event!

Great food great staff great service amazing building. Don't be derailed stay on track with this fine establishment. Wedding receptions parties graduations perfect for any occasion.

The food was sooo good and the portion size is massive. I definitely loved the cheese stuffed long hots!

It was our first experience at Trackside and will be our last. The rolls, greens and salad were good but the entrees were not. The blackened salmon wasn't blackened but was just ok. The Pork Osso Buco should be served almost falling off the bone but it was under cooked and the sauce it was served with was not good. It was supposed to be served with a vegetable but both plates had none. The last entree was Seafood Fruit De Mar which was supposed to be served with a spicy marinara sauce but was served with the same sauce that came with the Osso Buco.
