PLEASE DO NOT COME HERE! Backstory: My daughter was diagnosed with autism at a previous clinic-in which you go through a long evaluation process to be diagnosed. Mind you, prior from her official diagnosis-I also noticed some signs that she was autistic. Current: I went to Tribeca Pediatrics hoping to find a new primary pediatrician for my daughter-and scheduled her 2 1/2 wellness visit at this location. Disappointed, and appalled is an understatement. My daughter was first seen by a medical assistant, I told him I had concerns for her hearing because she was tested when she was younger but I was told she needed to be tested again when she got older. I thought they was going to refer me to a specialist, but he just whipped out this tool that didn’t seem reliable. After that, Dr. Bataykin came in gave my daughter her vaccination. I’m honestly surprised that she’s even a doctor. I told her how my daughter is autistic she went on to say “oh-she’s so young to be diagnosed”. As if there is a age limit to be diagnosed-you can show signs as young as 1 probably even younger. She then asked if my daughter had her blood work done-I asked for what exactly, she said for genetics in her diagnosis. I wanted to get of out there immediately! YOU CAN NOT BE DIAGNOSED BY BLOOD WORK! That is not how autism works. The medical assistant is leaving and my daughter then tells him bye, Dr. Bataykin then says “see she’s saying bye there’s no problem with her”. What? ! So her saying bye is enough for you to think she’s not autistic? ! I was truly disgusted by her lack of knowledge as a doctor. It’s sad because I have more of an understanding on autism than her as a doctor that works with children. I then told her I wanted my daughters hearing checked by a specialist because that’s how we originally did her hearing test, she basically questioned me like what I asked for wasn’t necessary. Mind you, my daughter is almost 3 and barely speaks. Overall, the doctor was clueless on just about everything, made disgusting remarks, the appointment was very quick, she didn’t even check my daughters vitals, didn’t ask any questions, she wasn’t knowledgeable at all, and I didn’t get a referral to a specialist. This place felt like an in and out fast food restaurant where no one knows anything and cares about anything.

We have since moved and can’t quite find a new doc we love as much as the team at TriBeCa, especially Dr. Hong!

She is smart while also being calming, takes her time, and really got to know our family. During a particularly difficult medical illness with one of our kiddos she continually went above and beyond checking in and following up and ensuring everyone at the practice was up to speed and supporting his ongoing care.

Scheduling appointments and school form requests were a breeze, they keep a great index of specialists for referrals and everyone we interacted with over several years, front desk, medical assistants, etc were all amazing!

Dr. Coelho and Dr. Free were our “back-up team” whenever we couldn’t see Dr. Hong and are both amazing as well!

My kids have been coming here since my daughter was 3 days old, 3 years ago. The practice conveniently has weekend hours and someone on call 24/7 and has a lot of parenting advice on their website. Not a fan of what the advice tells you online? That's fine too - the doctors are really flexible about it.

Dr. Coelho has been our main doctor and he has the best bedside manners. At every wellness appointment he makes sure that ALLL my questions are answered. Unfortunately, though, Dr. Coelho is leaving the practice soon.

We've seen the other doctors for sick visits here and there, and they're pretty good too. There have been negative reviews of Dr. Hong, and while I can see how she may occasionally come off as cold, she's a very competent and thorough pediatrician and we plan to switch to her as our main pediatrician when Dr. Coelho leaves.

What a great disappointment this place is! I was up all night with a sick baby. As a new mom, this is most terrifying experience. I schedule an appointment and was seen by the most rude and insensitive doctor, Ingrid Desroches. She couldn’t be bother with questions. She made very clear that it was a 15 minutes visit to which must of the time was spent entering information in the computer. Made racial comments and assumptions that “the baby was born in my country”.
I can’t put into words how uncomfortable I felt.
Waste of time and copayment.

I am sorry to hear some people have had a bad experience here. I hope that since the reviews are from 1+ years ago they are no longer valid. I have been bringing my son here since he was born and he is now 5 months. My experiences - both in person, when I call, and when I have done a video call with a doctor - have been wonderful. I always feel well taken care of and heard. I made a point to only see Dr. Coelho since he speaks Portuguese and that’s important to me, and he is very attentive and caring. I don’t have experience with any other doctors but all nurses and front desk personnel I have encountered were courteous, kind, and professional. I never feel rushed when I’m there and they always give plenty of time for you to ask as many questions as needed. I suggest that since Dr. Hong has gotten multiple bad reviews, you make appointments with other doctors there, as you can choose which doctor you see. I think it’s worth going to the same doctor each time so that you and your child can build a relationship with that person.

My experience with taking my son to Tribeca I have mixed feelings about. I like that there is no waiting period and the hours are nice. Dr. Daniel Coelho is good but is only there certain days. What I disliked is how uncomfortable Dr. Hong made me feel all three times I've seen her. She has no bed side manner and her comments the last time were inappropriate. So inappropriate that I am to embarrassed to write in this review. Her assumptions about how I took care of my son were always negative and I believe the reason was the color of my skin. I decided to find a different place to go to because I would rather see one doctor who knows my son. Also I found a doctor who has a lot more experience. The doctors at Tribeca are young doctors.

Tribecca pediatrics is a churn and burn type place. There is no care, no relationship, it's a mill. And it's dangerous that this is the type of care we have decided is ok for our kids.
I have a 4 year old, I brought my 4 year old to see Dr. Kristen Hong. I was very nervous as my child's breathing was labored. I had just come home from work and called the place and they told me they would wait for me and it would not be a problem.
I arrived a half hour before they closed as I had said to them over the phone. When I arrived I was brought into a waiting room. We were examined by "DR" Hong and she told me he needed a nebulizer and needed steroids. The only problem is, the nebulizer takes 10 minutes and despite there being 30 minutes left on the stated hours, DR Hong, wanted to leave for the day. Yes, you heard right, she admitted he needed treatment but, also admitted that she wanted to go home for the day.
I was told to either go to an emergency room or come back the next day. Since I am not a doctor, there was no real urgency in her voice. And how could I possibly think it was serious if she was willing to let me leave? I was given a choice and I decided to come back the next day.
Next day comes and we arrive to the doctors office. They take one look at my son and he is rushed off in an ambulance. He had pneumonia.
My son was kept in the Children Intensive Care for a week. Every single Doctor I relayed the story to was shocked that this woman could possibly be practicing medicine, let alone with children.
I contacted tribecca pediatrics and they admitted that she was wrong, apologized and well, that was it. She is still a doctor there, I am so shocked. The apology was something to the affect that Dr Hong feels terrible, admits her mistake and well, I am sure you would like to find another doctor so, tell me where to email the medical records. Another warm and caring voice, in the business of taking care of children.
Children are different than adults, especially young ones like a 4 year old. You can't just ignore them, or tell them to come back tomorrow because you have a dinner reservation. The fact that this doctor admittedly "made a mistake" the fact that she was not compelled to help a sick child in obvious need of medical attention because, she wanted to clock out early is one thing, the fact that Tribecca Pediatrics would keep this person employed is completely different. It shows just how much they care about your kids.
I would not take my child here, I would really hope you wouldn't either. Find yourself a real pediatrician, sure it's convenient and easy but, your children deserve better. If they are willing to completely ignore and overlook a child that needs to be rushed to a hospital, what are the chances of them picking up something less obvious, or harder to see?

Heartfelt care, bright and fun facility, this is usually our "Saturday" option for doctor visits. I was very pleased with the young physician's bedside manner. Our daughter always looks forward to the lollipops.

This location is not good. They saw us 40 mins AFTER our scheduled time. That’s a super long time when you have an infant with a nap schedule. We had to ask multiple times to ensure we were still in the queue.always hearing “we’ll see you shortly”. They clearly had no idea. After asking a third time, they brought us to a room, where the nurse was super rude. We waited another 10 mins before a doctor came by. We normally go to the Fort Greene location, which has been consistently good. We will aim to never go here again. It’s clearly disorganized and poorly run.

My son has been going to Tribecca Peds since he was 2 1/2 months. He sees Dr Feder and she is awesome. She really takes her times and answered all of my questions and was very patient. The medical Assistants are super nice and they actually remember your child at every visit so that makes me feel like they really at least try and get to know your child individually. I would recommend to any parent.

We've been going to Tribeca Peds for ~7 years. We've gone to 3 different locations (Ft Greene, Clinton Hill and now Prospect Heights) as over time they've opened ever-closer locations.

I agree to the general theme in these reviews:

- DOCTORS are great: good people, answer all questions, have a sense of humor with the kids, couldn't be happier.

- Doctor's ASSISTANTS are good: the are generally fine and friendly, tho some of them could work on their kid-skills.

- FRONT DESK is meh: sometimes grumpy and occasionally unreliable. For example, today I will be calling the Prospect Heights location to request they email me the wellness document they promised last week.

This experience has been consistently true at all 3 locations.

Their online services also could use a serious update. For example, there's a functionality on the site that lets you sign up for appointments. Only you get a response (the one time I tried it) that I couldn't actually get an appointment (why? Didn't say) and had to call for an appointment. So. Ok then.

Go for the doctors.

Wait was super long. One hour to see the doctor even with an appointment. Front desk staff are are definitely not enthused to be working in a pediatricians office. Doctor was amazing. Hopefully he finds better staff. All the stars are for him.
