Turkey Mountain Nature Preserve reviews
15What a great place to hike. The trails are well marked. It was a first time for me and enjoyed myself exploring.
Easy climb but nothing to really see and it's so empty and apparently there are poisonous snakes here
Had a great day hiking here. Hiked white trail up to top of turkey hill mountain then took blue trail down and then went on red trail. All together 4 Miles of hiking
The trails are not well marked and a bit confusing. Some are overgrown and unkempt. I don't think I'll hike here again.
Awesome! I really enjoyed this trip, it was my first time hiking here, it’s an easy and short walk to get to the top.
Safe trails the whole way. A beautiful view at the top that's peaceful, and serene. Well worth the trek alone, with friends, or with family.
Great hiking option. You can see NYC from the peak.
Recommend going early before 830am, parking lot fills up.
2 mile round trip using the white trail to the top and blue trail back. There are nice view points. Trail is well trafficked. Parking lot is small and gets filled up on busy days.
Amazing trails, great place to hike. View from the mountain top is amazing. As heads-up trail is not stroller friendly. Parking lot is good and parking by the road is okay.
Have heard about this hike a lot and did it for the first time today. The weather was cold and dreary (Sat morning) and we only saw 5 other people the entire time. I'm sure it's usually much more crowded. The views from the top are awesome. Hike is about 2 miles round trip and pretty easy - some tough uphill portions on the way up. The trails are well maintained and clearly marked so you don't have to worry about losing your way.
A nice patch of wilderness that's tucked in between the high power lines and the Taconic Parkway.though you wouldn't know it, when you're there. There's about a a mile/mile and a half of "flat" trails and about a mile of steep climbing (. 5 from either side) to the peak. The views of the Croton resevoir are well worth it.
Excellent trek all the way to the top of the hill. Steep at times but manageable. If you have knee challenge or injury, you might benefit from a walking stick.
Great resting area and view once you get to the top.
Nice hike up the blue trail to the top. A little steep but for intermediate level hikers it's easy. I will definitely go back in the fall when the leaves are turning colors and when they are off the trees. The view will be so much nicer.
Since the storm last month, there is a large amount of fallen trees and branches so it's a little challenging and not as easy to tell what is the trail and what is not.
Relatively easy hike to the top of the mountain that the entire family can do. We did the white trail up and blue trail down for about a total of two miles. Nice views of the Croton Reservoir and Hudson River.
