I have had the privilege of being cared for by Dr Markiewicz and his staff at UB. They are kind, professional, friendly and timely. They explained things thoroughly and I felt very comfortable in their care. At one point had to speak to the billing person and of course the schedulers who are also very kind and efficient. This last visit also included Dr Wen - he is a resident who someday will also be the go to kind of doc people want. Thank you all - I appreciate the care given me. Keep up the good work!

Addendum: the billing department needs work; billed from early 2022 and total of 3 visits; told previous outsourcing did a "terrible job" and she (Jennifer) has taken over - she was lecturing on the process, the law, how Insurance works etc.and I couldn't get a word in edgewise - was trying to explain my concern when she would once again launched into a lecture with a tone - I finally yelled "Stop" - and then received a response she would not speak to me if I yelled - if anything would stop me from going back - it would be this. She needs an education on customer service. I would happily pay my bill if I could get accurate information. Very condescending demeanor and attitude.

Staff lack compassion and do not care for anything but their wallet book can get. I'd give negative stars because I been forced into waiting for oral care because I don't have an extra 5000 dollar to hand them and 99%of all dentist got so mad I cut up my useless insurance card from independent health insurance do not waste your money with independent health either

We couldn't be more satisfied with our experience at UB Oral & Maxilofacial Surgery. Dr Markiewicz, and the staff members we encountered during our son's appointments, were highly professional and competent. They took the time to answer all our questions, and alleviated all our concerns.

I was referred here for a growth in my sinus. I got it biopsied here (with very little preparation for how invasive and painful the procedure and recovery would be). When I came back the following week, I was told first by a nurse or NP not to worry because the growth came back benign. The doctor then came in and told me that it was actually inconclusive while simultaneously texting on his phone. I have not had an interaction with him in which he was not texting, besides when he was doing the actual surgery. I was told that I would soon be scheduled to have the growth removed. This is a growth that I was told by another oral surgeon would do extensive damage to my face if it was not removed soon and if it got any bigger. I was last in the office this past October, and was never called as they said I would be to schedule the removal. I have called them multiple times (you cannot call the office directly, mind you), with no reply of any kind. I called to ask them to please send me my CT scans and chart information so that I can try to go somewhere else and again received no reply, so they are essentially keeping my medical records from me. I am at a loss as to what I can do. I have been to many doctors in my lifetime, many of whom are just as busy as this office, and I have never experienced this level of unprofessionalness before. The term beneficence does not cross the mind of those who work here, and that's really sad, considering that this is the only option for many of the people who are referred here.

Update: I went to ECMC and saw doctor Nagai for my surgery, and the process was very quick and easy, and he did a great job! I recommend seeing him if you're able!

Called four times in the past two weeks to set up appointment to get my sons wisdom teeth removed. Left message with receptionist, who was very unpleasant. Very unprofessional, not a good sign. Going to find a new doctor.

Completely unprofessional for numerous reasons (rude/unhelpful staff & violations of HIPPA), and filthy waiting area/consult rooms. Went to get a consult for my wisdom teeth removal and I left. After reading the terrible reviews prior to my consult, I still wanted to give it a chance. I'm glad I gave it a chance because hopefully my post will alert individuals this is NOT the place you want to go. Especially to do oral surgery - I would never ever trust them after reading what I have and seeing what I did today.

I have been trying to schedule an appointment for almost six months. I’ve called daily at one point and they just refused to call me back. I’ve never dealt with such unprofessionalism before.
