Uncle Luoyang reviews
10Jan2023: Food truck is great with good portion size and filling. Food good for one day to eat. Its yummy and quick service. Food truck in front of columbia university. Good veggie options.
Excellent authentic Chinese food at affordable prices. Seriously, if you want true Chinese flavor, order from here. One of my favorite take out spots in the city!
Quality Chinese takeout food at a reasonable price. I've struggled to find a good takeout spot up here but this is the best find so far. I appreciate the quality of the food for the price, and delivery has consistently been quick.
I really try not to give 1 star reviews, and I try to be constructive but frankly the sevice at this restaurant is abysmal. My first time tring this place and after being told to wait 1 hour (for 3 just dishes), after multiple phone calls and a visit to the restaurant, I was finally informed that my order was given to someone else. No attempt was made to rectify the problem. No offer was made to expedite a new order for me. Just 'Sorry'. This place is chaotic, the ordering system is a mess. I saw a stack of chinese food boxes fall on the dirty floor. I really hope they were thrown away and not used for customers, but I suggest it's not worth finding out.
DO NOT GO HERE! This establishment just took over the old Chinese restaurant in the neighborhood, named Hunan Park. It was a nice place to get our lunch orders from and the cashier was friendly as well. I love supporting small businesses in the neighborhood especially now that the pandemic has hit these mom and pop stores really hard financially. So, when I went into what I thought was my usual Chinese spot, I quickly realized the establishment has changed and the person behind the counter is not the same person I always order from.
Despite the change I was still open to diversity; welcoming a new ownership and possibly new taste. Boy, I was wrong.the woman behind the counter was rude and arrogant. She kept rushing me to finish placing my order like there was a crowd waiting behind me. I looked over and there was none. Then she handed the credit card receipt for me to sign and said “Here sign. You go! ”, while she was shooing me away like a fly hovering over food. I wasn’t expecting this behavior from a fellow Asian. I’m never going back here again! Get your Chinese food from somewhere else. It’s not worth the bad service.
TERRIBLE! I ordered general Tsos chicken from here in person and the lady behind the counter was very rude. She was rushing me and yelling in a rude manner as I’m thinking of another item to order. Wondering why she was in such a rush, I looked behind me to see if a long line had turned up quickly in my 2 minutes standing there. There was no line & it turned out the lady was just rude and impatient. The food wasn’t good either. This new owner/ management is a far cry from the previous. I used to go here when the establishment was named “Hunan Park”and was under better management. I would never come back here again nor do I recommend you would either!
Recommend. Enjoyed lunch menu fish items. Other dishes- steamed veg.dumplings, pork chow fun-excellent.
Good addition to the neighborhood.
I kept it simple with shrimp fried rice and veggie chow fun to go. Flavorful rice and soft chewy noodles. Delicate flavors—but just add chili oil or black vine if you like. I’ll just say that both tasted exactly like the takeout next to my apartment in Yangzhou, Jiangsu. I can’t stop thinking about my next order. Yum!
During this pandemic Uncle Luoyang was closed. I am happy this Great Chinese Restaurant has reopened. I was happy to see customers supporting their business. Prices are good. The people are fantastic. The food is awesome.
Lunch special is very good, softdrink/soap with a selected course and rice. However, the boiled fish with pickled cabbage and chili does not taste good,I do not like the fish they used, covered with too much flour,But luoyang is good at cooking chicken!
