United States Postal Service reviews
18Illiterate and rude staff. Got yield at and called a weirdo because postal lady couldn't figure out that "ID 83646" is Idaho with zip code 83646. Apparently she thought it is an identification number. Is it really the best employee postal can find with such high unemployment rates?
A person (I didn’t catch her name) from the post office called me to kindly let me know that they had a package that was unable to be delivered on the first attempt. I asked if it could be redelivered and they told me they could come within the hour. Lin, the person who was originally delivering the package personally called to let met know he had arrived at my building and met me to deliver the package. Also, I’ve never had any problems when I drop off any package at this location. This is the most considerate and efficient post office I’ve ever dealt with in New York! Thank you Lin and USPS.
Yes I agree with a few people here who made the same reviews. They make fake delivery attempts. Then when you look online it says they left a notice, when they never did! Horrible! They should just go out of business already
No one showed up after “lunch” and 20+ people waited outside for over an hour. No notice or any information available on the door.
I had a extremely important certified parcel being delivered to a building on Madison St. The carrier couldn't get into the actual building and I was alerted that a notice was left. I called the actual office and a woman picked up within a couple rings. I explained the situation and she placed me on hold called the carrier who was already at her next building. She agreed to come back when she finished so my son could go down and sign for the parcel. I recieved a phone call saying the carrier was downstairs pretty quickly. I want to thank both individuals for going above and beyond. Most offices you can't even get someone to answer. I appreciate what both women did!
You are not able to get to a person on the phone! Horrible it’s just a robot.when I finally got in touch with both post office personal one transferred and the other location literally hung up the phone twice! Shame on them for such bad service
Absolute worst post office. No one wears a mask. Always on their phones instead of helping the line of customers. You approach a window to ask for help and they yell at you, without even looking up at you, to go to a different window. I will be going out of my way to drop off packages at Varick St location going forward.
The reviews in the past sound bad, but I've been going there since 2016 and it's changed. The people are friendly! No scowls or one word answers as I've gotten at the 4th street post office. During hectic times, they have a person working on the floor to guide and assist so everything moves faster. During Covid-19 there was plenty of assistance and plenty of hand sanitizer.
Most disgusting service. Beyond rude and the place is extremely dirty. I cannot believe it’s still open as they should not be.
Option for 0 stars? No? It's okay we'll just give one. One star for the good location. Other than that 0 stars for everything else. Customer Service? Horrible. Not sure they know what customer service is. USPS is my go to when it comes to all my business matters. I fly from state to state and wherever I go USPS is a essential for me. I have NEVER been to a USPS location that has made me want to storm out until today. All staff here hate their jobs with a passion and you can tell through the way they treat their customers. I would really like for this USPS to go through new management. I am sure it's not difficult to throw up a job listing on indeed for new staff who will actually work harder for the pay they're receiving. Oh! And USPS if you're reading this. PLEASE get rid of the black lady with long red hair and the older white guy with the greys. If this review gets lost with all the other one star reviews and nothing is improved I will need this post office to close down for good.
I sent 3 packages to my father he only got one, same weight, same box, same label. They hold 2 packages for over a month stating that the packages were on its way but checking my tracking it looked that it wasn’t even scan, I had to addressed the problem to consumer affairs and then all of the sudden they scanned the packages and delivered them. The packages had almost $600 in vitamins
They wanna keep it because the packages were opened up, they had a doble tape which I did not put double tape and the fragile label was cut in half. They have a little mafia there for sure.
While nobody likes to wait in lines at post offices it can’t be helped. I’m grateful for having such a valuable resource nearby.
Beware I left my prepaid package with a postal worker. A few weeks later the recipient told me they never received the package. I checked the tracking number and it was never mailed out! Either this post office never mailed my package or they have someone stealing packages!
They are great! They do the best they can, usually very good, and the
services are unbelievably inexpensive for the year 2020.
(Imagine a world with no post office, merely private companies who only provide services when they are able to turn a profit)
Terrible Mail Curriers when did it become a law To ask a question if I have any mail? Then in reply he wants to act like a tough guy? Terrible service especially if I’m a tenant in my own building this why usps gets such a bad name. Absolutely awful
Same slow service problems as everybody else, plus they were out of EVERYTHING, including tape. All I needed to do was drop off a prepaid package, but their drop box was locked/broken, and I had to wait in line for 30 minutes just to hand it to someone. USPS sucks!
The staff in this post office are so rude, it makes you think why do they have jobs! USPS should open more small kiosk shops and just get rid of such people that don't want to work and appear not to be happy there. Would rather deal with a machine!
They stole/never delivered our package. I added a note on the package for it to be delivered between 10 am - 5 pm on weekdays. They decided to deliver the package at 6pm and claimed they can’t deliver because the address doesn’t have a suite number. Employees are a joke and they ignored all my calls (called 5 times)
