UR Medicine Urgent Care – Perinton, Victor NY

Urgent care is not very urgent. No one is in a hurry. I waited 80 minutes to see a doctor and ended up having to leave as I was late to pick up my kids. When I walked out of the patient room explaining I needed to leave, there were 3 providers sitting on a computer behind the desk. All of a sudden I was being made a priority. They offered to see me then And there. Too little too late. I won’t be going back there.

Save your time go to your primary dr bc they are of no help here. I wish I could give you 0 stars.

Beware of the billing! Despite being called an urgent care, they bill like a hospital because they are "affiliated" with strong. Ended up with a $1400 bill for X-rays and a final "take Advil and call PCP" type visit. This is absolutely fraud given the sign saying urgent care. I called URMC patient services and they were useless. Do not go here!

If I could only give *0* stars… I am 0 in 4 at this place, seeing different providers at each visit for an array of reasons - Misdiagnosed each time. Fortunately, I am an educated woman who knows when to seek a second opinion and God has blessed me with connections in the medical community. Let me save you the trouble of visiting this particular Urgent Care – it is one small step away from 18th century Leech Therapy and Cornbread Poultices. PA, in particular, was condescending and paid zero attention to medical history. Nurses have been nice though.

DO NOT VISIT! This location bills you as if you are going to the Strong Hospital. My entire family visited for strep tests and the charge was several thousand dollars for strep tests alone. Despite advertising itself as an Urgent Care, you are charged as if you are going to a hospital (which results in hundreds of dollars more per visit). We learned the hard way - go to any different urgent care location!

Against my better judgement I went to this location I was like it is just urgent care…. Wrong They bill as a hospital. What should have been a $100 copay is costing me $400 because they are “affiliated with Strong” meaning they can charge you more because of that.
Ive been back and forth with them and my insurance company disputing this because first of all I was there 15 minutes second they did nothing and I had to call my other doctor when I left because they were no help!
Unless you cant make it or if you want to pay more go to a URMC that does not say affiliated because they will charge you a reasonable price like the Penfield location

If zero stars were a choice, that would be the rating. My son came home feeling ill on a Friday but had a field trip and has severe allergies so we didn’t think too much of it. By dinner time he got feverish so we decided to take him to this location. Arrived at 6: 00. It is currently 8: 30, the office is now closed but my son hasn’t been seen other than for vitals and a rapid strep test. He is fast asleep and the medical staff are discussing vacation flights. When you know a child has a 101 fever and no one else is in the place, wouldn’t you like to get him home so he can go to bed? Don’t you yourself want to get home from work? Thank goodness we have an amazing pediatrician to follow up with. I have never seen such disregard for people in a medical facility in all my days.

Oh and don’t try to arrive at 7: 00. They put the sign up that they are closed even though they are open until 8: 00.

I’ve been here now 2 times in past 8 months one with my son and recently for myself. Both times they completely missed what was wrong with us resulting in both of her to far sicker while waiting for their bogus treatment to take hold. This last time I went there on Sunday and was told nothing was wrong with me. Only to get so sick on Monday and Tuesday that I coughed myself into passing out. My real Doc on Tuesday just prescribed me a steroid, an antibiotic, cough meds with codine and sent me for a chest X-ray …. All of which could have and should have been done Sunday. I’m done with these doc-in-box places. Do not trust the care you receive at this place.

Tracy and Amy were so helpful today. I’m thankful to them for listening to my concerns and treating me with kindness.

I read many of the reviews and I was a little concerned going in. However except for the length of time to be seen (2 hours), I was pleased with the visit. Amy PA was pleasant, took time discussing her impressions and answered my questions.

Try calling in to get hours of operation and the message was SOOOOOO long and Covid related that I hung up …. Shorten the greeting message and get to the phone tree faster …. Went elsewhere

More than a three hour wait on a Sunday. I understand these are difficult times. But please try to hire more

Was told that getting a doctor's note would be free as in completely covered by the front desk and by doctor Kelsey Lynn Yoo. WRONG! They charged me $40 for it!

My girlfriend and I went in there tonight was greeted nicely and the nurses were bubbly and everything there here comes the PA Amy who was rude as I don’t even know we explained the symptoms and she gave us no help whatsoever told us it was viral and sent us on our way then when I asked her to come back in to see about getting something to actually help after explaining how my girlfriend knows her body she basically denied that she did that it was simply viral it would go away she refused to prescribe anything because it wasn’t necessary. Don’t waste your time if u get her I would suggest asking for someone else. She was very nasty and rude and made my girlfriend feel uncomfortable and unwanted.

We had a very positive experience here. The gentleman at the desk was friendly, efficient and courteous as was the nurse who stayed with us throughout our visit. Dr Vitale was very helpful and gave us explicit directions on how to proceed. When you’re in a situation where you basically need emergency care, it was helpful and reassuring to find such a professional and caring group.
