I had a frustrating experience with Urban Modesty. I tried to exchange or get a refund after driving an hour from long island to queens location I was told all sale items were non-returnable & they wont be able to do anything. I purchased 5 dresses total & wanted to exchange 4 due to one of the dresses color differed significantly from the online image & nothing like what I expected. Others were too long and the sizing was completely off. The dresses I purchased online wasn't clearly marked as final sale and nowhere on the product page or order summary did it state they were final sale and was not allowed to exchange or return.
So just Beware of Urban Modesty's no-return or exchange policy on clearance items even though i purchased during the sale.
Even when seeking clarification, the manager refused to discuss the matter over the phone, as he proceeded to text his employee on the matter over speaking directly to his customer. Disappointing overall.
BUYER BEWARE! This is a PSA to anyone currently looking to purchase from their online services. I wouldn't recommend it. I placed my order on 11/3/23 and received my package on the 15th, I was missing one of the jackets I ordered. I tried reaching out via email, online complaint form, facebook, etc. There have been no responses. I have been so frustrated that my husband called their location in Brooklyn, they said it was UPS fault, and didn't want to investigate further. I called UPS knowing that they take photos of all packages, which they did, and it was delivered. UPS can't tell if an item is missing due to human error during the packing process that's on urban modesty. Their clothes are beautiful and I am upset that this has taken place, if you do decide to order use shop pay or pay pal that way you can file through them to contact the shop, and maybe get your money back if something happens.
The girl at Urban Modesty in Queens provided such exceptional service. She went above and beyond to help me with sizes and even placed an online order for me. The entire transaction was made super easy. I couldn't be happier with the experience!
Been waiting for a spot like this to open in Queens. Was very pleased by the endless selection of dresses, abayas, and everyday wear.

I really recommend this place a lot. I visited because I needed an Abaya to travel to Dubai and the customer service was great. Samia was amazing with me, was very patient and helped me to take the best outfit.

The have nice modest abaya but they need more plus size and some dress that’s run big. Great customer service. They also need more shorter dress.
I bought some clothes online and out of the six items I bought, only one fit. The Dresses were super short. So I decided to go to this store to return my five items since returning them online would cost me a massive restocking fee.
I just want to say how upset I am. I was accused of leaving a stain on a dress when in fact it was a defect on the stores end. The sales lady, who was actually pleasant and was just doing her job, had to text the store owner to let her know. They even asked me what day I made the order as if to say that I had enough time to wear the dress and come in to return it. I told her multiple times that the dress didn’t even fit me and I barely had the items for ten days. The accusatory gesture I got made me feel so awful. And it was clearly a discoloration that was all over the dress.
Nonetheless, I did get my refund. The store has some decent pieces here and there but it really isn’t worth the price point and the sizing is off. The quality of the clothing items isn’t all that either. I wouldn’t be shopping in store or online especially after this experience.
