U.S. Social Security Administration reviews
13I would love to give a negative zero stars especially for the agency workers, but that’s not a option! They need to learn how to be more professional and communicate better to us. There two security guards in the building. The Older security guard very welcoming and willing to help you check in. Goes beyond his job to help you. His more then just a security guard. His like a customer service rep as well! Second security guards seat down at the desk and does nothing but play with his phone half of time. When he does help he is extremely rude and lazy. For a government agent office. It should always feel welcoming from all. If you walking in be prepared to wait for over 2 hrs.
There is no way on earth to make an appointment with a human for this location. The phone number gets you a recording that tells you to call between 7 am and 7 pm M-F, even though you're calling during those hours. There is nothing on the website to get you through to someone who can set up an appointment for you. Everything directs you to the phone number, which tells you to call back between 7 am and 7 pm M-F, even though you're calling at 9: 10 on a Wednesday. It is possible they're in a different time zone, for example, Guam. That would explain everything, because they don't actually tell you the time zone.
Thank you very much for clearing my disability and offering me a promotion as live -in custodian a much-needed break.
They only process retirement benefits here (no name change or any other services). Thought I'd save someone the time not making the same mistake getting all the way there just to be pointed to the 123 William Street location. Their website says you can take it to any SSA office which is misleading.
They don't post on the website that to get a replacement card you need to go to 123 William street. This is poor communication from SSC office to those who have to travel into the city to visit the office.
This is not the place if you want to get a new card, replacement or change personal information like if the SSA have been using the wrong birthday all these years which happened to me.
Thank you very much for being concerned enough professional enough to give assistance to those less fortunate. Your agency definetly make New York City a worthehile visit. When you get a chance check out Sam E Studio Creations
Been there twice in two days. Lady at front counter lied, told me no supervisors there today. Guard on my way out told me one was due back from lunch shortly. No wonder they carry guns. All SS employees do is hope you go away or die so they can keep all of your money.
The signs there are not indicated correctly. I saw multiple signs indicating me to 4th floor; while it led me to a locked room. The correct place is in 5th floor. Clerks there are rather nice; but customers are rude and defensive. While I tried to smile at some lady, she was cursing back. Numerous of customers were shouting to the clerks. The environment was very hostile.
Showed up at 9: 10 (opens at 9) ; processing anything of significance takes hours of waiting, and appointments take weeks to get.
It was the wrong place and I could not do what I wanted to do, but the staff and very especially the security guards were very nice and helpful.
They don't do new cards here. Go to the 123 Williams street which is near Fulton street subway. Downtown Manhattan. But the people who work here are nice and courteous.
It is not well advertised but this location DOES NOT deal with applications or replacements of social security cards. You have to go all the way downtown.
