US Social Security Administration reviews
18The number provided is a scam number and to do this during a pandemic is utterly wrong the actual ssi office is closed i drove all rhe way into Rochester for nothing
Terrible experience and I work for the definitely rudethey looked at you like you're from another planet they don't know how to answer your questions.
It is hit or miss if you get a worker who knows what they are doing. I got one who put false information in the computer.
Me and my son we're there today Tuesday December 10 we had a great experience there the girl who helped us was amazing she was at window 26 she helped us so much thank you again for everything you did for us this morning have a great Christmas
Had a great experience. Granted, security is above airport level. But once i was through my wait was only 7 minutes, i was seen by friendly staff. It was a Friday around 1PM - was in and out in 20 minuets.
Very poor location, with the bus terminal being just around the corner and now this place and the DMV moving in someone is sure to be mugged or stabbed. With keeping rebuilding Rochester in mind this was a BAD MOVE. No one wants to feel unsafe and unfortunately this place and the bus terminal bring unsafe people back into the environment so many are trying to invest in and change. Way to highly publicize the
Downtown on mainstreet staff must be hanging out in the back on their phones recalling numbers and waiting ten mins before moving on to the next number knowing majority of people left. This is UNBELIEVABLE. Yet people on disability are lazy. Fin ppl smh im gonna be here over two hrs then i have to walk five blocks to my car. Hopefully im not ticketed or towed
Good luck getting through the 30 minute security line just to wait in another line. Except the second line won’t take 30 min. It will take all day.
It's a government office and the worst one if them all. If you don't have to come here don't, avoid getting a job / disability as long as you can. Prevention is key to avoiding this place! Security guard area treats you like a bunch if children in line, you wait forever and the office is cold. Improvements could be made to several areas but why would they ask considering the new location with no parking: (
Why did SSA office move from 100 Chestnut St. Rochester, N. Y. 14604 to 200 E. Main Street, Rochester, N. Y. 14604 without informing to me? Not pleased. I am a congentially-deaf adult over 65 age as I point out at most of other deaf citizens still are ill-informed by the thoughtless & insensitive normal-hearing persons in public. The Normal-Hearing World is at fault. -Not for the Deaf World! Only I honestly know about our Deaf Heritage and the Deaf History in a fact. I am a very serious person.
When the recorded voice offered to let me talk to a real person, it told me my. Wait time would an hour and forty seven minutes.
Bah-humbug!
Are you seriously under staffed?
I was ready for a long wait on a Friday afternoon around noon. I was wonderfully surprised. My number was called in 15 minutes and my business was finished in another 10 minutes. The clerk was very pleasant and efficient. Nice job to the Social Security folks.
First time I’ve been there. The woman who helped me was an absolute joy! Very pleasant and very helpful. Thank you for your help! Also the security men an women were very courteous. Again, thank you all!
When I was dealing with Social Security Administration about getting my disability benefits I didn't have to go to them too many times, just a few but my lawyer helped me get my benefits.
I just held for 15 minutes, finally a recording said I was being transferred to a representative, but I was disconnected.: (
Not very helpful at all. Got the impression I was bothering them for asking a question. That's what I get for calling in after 3 pm when they close at 4 pm. All I wanted was for them to mail me out information. She wouldn't do that. Told me to go on the website to do it.
They make you feel as if you have to beg them. Be extremely nice even when they're not doing they're jobs. They lost my papers then talked to me like it's my fault and still denied my back pay despite my housing issue. Only official notification I received was a denial letter. Not even a call. Extremely upset. I applied for what should have taken at the most 3 weeks. Took 2 months for a denial. Applied April17 denial June 22.
