What reason could the Corning office have to be closed until April. You can't call.no one answers, can't leave a message, thats not ian option. Can't make an appointment because no one will answer the phone.
So, if anyone has. Clue, Please post!

No one ever contacts you back and when I call it takes about 40 minutes to get through then u get sent to their answering machine and get disconnected before you can leave a message and your case worker is always busy and you can't speak to them.this is so disrespectful.

I have been trying to connect with this office to update important information. I was told that I would receive a call back and that if I didn't receive a call back within one week, I was to call again to try to connect with the representative that I was told I needed to speak to. It's been a little over a week now and I have not received any call back. Just today, due to the nature of the reason I need to update my information, I have sat and gone through the automated service more than several times waiting on hold only to have the call dropped several times, other times the automated service states "Your call cannot be completed at this time, " and the one time I did manage to connect with a representative, after explaining the reason I was calling, I was supposed to have been transferred over to the person I was supposed to be receiving a call from. An answering machine picked up but it was not the person that I was told that I was being transferred to that I needed to speak to to update my information which does affect my benefits as well as other aspects of my every day life. There were other incidents on previous dates where I was required to update important information that also affects my benefits as well as other aspects of my life (including insurance, assistance, health care, DMV, etc.) which they failed to complete all of that correctly and I didn't find out until weeks later when I needed to update another agency that is an integral part of my health care, my insurance, etc. This caused more delays and more confusion, while perhaps a set of minor inconveniences occurred, that particular issue did cause me hardships. Even if those hardships were minor and/or short term, these things could have been easily prevented had they done what they are required and supposed to do. If I, a life long medically disabled recipient of this national service that is federally regulated follow the rules and do as I am responsible to do, why can this office not seem to get things correct, be professional and courteous, and follow their own rules and protocol? Also, the fact that in this state, all state regulated offices are currently open to the public. Why is this field office not open to the public? It is the nearest local office. I realize there may be an immense case load for the workers of this office and I realize that they are still not open to the public as of June 22,2021 which is not necessary at this point in time. SSA is a national agency that does affect countless individuals and families daily who do most certainly rely, often times with no other choice, on SSA. This office is no different. To have this many issues with this office is absurd. If one were to read the other not so great complaints in the reviews here, these things do not show this office in a good light at all. The negative reviews also give light to important aspects of the lives that this office is affecting in bad ways. There are some things that the national number cannot be effective with. For more than just I, as it is understood, this office is responsible for what I suspect is several thousand individuals and/or families that include children. This office needs to do better. This office needs to be open to the public and this office needs to do better and get it together. What I have experienced with this office with my own personal things, even just today, is quite ridiculous and it needs to stop. Any more of this kind of thing and I have considered filing a complaint. There is no legitimate reason that this office cannot meet the standard that it is required to. Covid-19 restrictions can no longer be used as an excuse for the negligence that has clearly been occurring from this office. Enough is enough.

The worker there is very HORRIBLE and they made a mistake on my SS that caused me to lose my monthly SSI. I am trying to fight hard to get it back.

My daughter is almost 15 months old we never have even seen her social security number, they never sent it when the hospital applied for it, then after a while of never getting it (we figured with covid first starting right after she was born that things were slowed down because of it) we called and they said we had to apply through the mail, the man said all I had to send was my daughter’s birth certificate and my actual drivers license, well I couldn’t because I drive everyday to work and I didn’t want to not have my ID. Then we spoke to another person who said we can send copies of the documents so we did, then the application was denied, which no one had called or sent a letter to tell us, so a month goes by and nothing so we call and they say they wouldn’t reject the application because we didn’t send her actual birth certificate but then when he looked it up he said it got denied because they need her actual birth certificate. So super frustrated at this point we get her actual birth certificate and used my husband’s ID we triple checked with him that that’s all we needed, they said yes so we paid to have it overnighted. Well we get the documents back in the mail about a week later saying there wasn’t enough to proceed with the application, that we had to send my daughters insurance card with her name or else a letter from her doctor. Now I’m fed up but we call her doctor get the letter that day and send it BACK out for the third time! We get the documents back and a letter saying the application is being processed and should receive the card in 2 weeks. Well they send THE WRONG SOCIAL SECURITY CARD! I can not even explain the frustration this office has caused, unprofessional and honestly that’s not cool they don’t even send the correct social security card, how many people’s social security cards are being sent out? How many people are going to fall victim to identity theft? How is such a gross mistake allowed to be made? Someone needs to answer for their terrible service.
