We stumbled across Utsav after a Broadway show & had the most enjoyable meal.
We tried the newly introduced Bengali dishes which were all authentic. We started with Bengali fish fry & Mutton Chop as appetizers. For mains we had the Chicken Rezala & Khosha Mangsho with Cholar Dal & Luchi.
They even offer Sandesh as dessert!
Excellent service by Naseem
Can’t wait to go back!

Very average food taste and highly priced. Went with family, the food was nothing but just OK. Indian food can be better than that.

The Indo Chinese dishes were amazing. Our favorites were salt & pepper prawns, chili chicken dry, veg Hakka noodles & garlic coriander fried rice.

Very friendly staff and the food was excellent. Be prepared to eat spicy food, though it's absolutely recommended even if you're not used to it. Their samosas are the best I've ever had in any place of Indian food. The prices are around 20-30 per plate and they are good for the quality of the food. Absolutely recommended and would go back if I ever want to try Indian food in Manhattan!

There is a lot of waiting for food to arrive. I had to wait for 30 mins for a paneer starter to arrive and it was only 4 pieces. Indo Chinese options would take more than 45 mins. As this place seems to be popular, they should be having more chefs to get the food out faster. The portions are small and expensive. They have a mandatory gratuity of 18%. The taste was OK and the chilli garlic noodles were tasty. The seasoning was lacking on the schezwan fried rice.

Short of staff. No attention to customers once starters finished the waitress refused to give fresh cutlery and end of meal still had the audacity to add 20% service charge which I refused to pay after such poor service n attitude. Dont ever go there if you want to get your moneys worth.

Very good food and amazing staff! The staff called Ramson was taking down our orders and suggested most of the food on our table. Very good staff and all of his suggestions were great! Make sure to try Lamb Rogan Josh!

The place has gone downhill in the past year or two. The lunch buffet is gone, staff seems overwhelmed, A/C broken, lights malfunctioning.

I visited this Indian restaurant with my family on a bustling Saturday evening. The establishment had a lively and busy atmosphere. Despite the high level of activity, we were pleasantly surprised to be seated promptly, and our server, Naseem, attended to us as soon as we took our seats. Naseem graciously guided us through the menu and provided excellent recommendations. Although there was a slight delay in the arrival of our food, it was well worth the wait, perfectly satisfying the preferences of my family. We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the restaurant and eagerly look forward to returning in the future.

The amount of money we paid and gratuity, service provided is not at all great. The AC wasn’t working in summertime, dinner came half with no spoons. The other half the dinner they served after 30 minutes. It was a bad experience.

Butter chicken Kulcha is the bomb… but so is the Bengali Mutton curry, Gobi Manchurian, mango chat and pretty much everything I ordered
Ramson was our Server and he was on point. Great guy. Saved this place for a return trip

What a great find!
Indian, Indo Chinese & Bengali food all under one roof!
We tried dishes from all the three menus
Loved the cream cheese & truffle oil mini Kulcha, Bhuna mutton, chili lamb, Hakka noodles, Bengali fish fry ending with alur dum & luchi (fried bread)
Can’t wait to go back!

Good food (not exceptional), BUT.

We went there for lunch as we wanted to try their Lunch specials menu. Even after confirming with them beforehand that they do have 'Lunch specials', they told us that they do not have lunch specials! We would not have gone there if they had told us earlier! We were a group of 8 people, and a friend was visiting from overseas. So it was kinda embarrassing for us, and it doesn't paint a good picture of 'indian restaurants in NYC'. Additionally they charged 18% tip even when they didn't even care to serve the food or take away the empty plates. And the wait time was looooong! We were waiting for about 30 min for the food to arrive, and it was the regular Indian dishes. They told us at the beginning that if we want indian-chinese dishes, it would take 'at least 35 min', and naive us ordered simple Indian dishes thinking it would take less time!
Probably won't visit again, because you can get similar food for a much cheaper price!

Butter chicken was the best I had in years. Never knew or was told that when you order a poori you just get poori and no curry with it. Waiter did not even ask what curry we want with poori when we ordered. And Aloo paratha does not come with any side like yogurt or pickle. Aloo paratha tastes amazing though. May be all of this is NY style that we are not used to and we were expecting too much from a NY downtown Indian restaurant.

Walked with my sister and made the decision to try the eatery. That was a wise choice. Food was excellent. Ramson, our waitre, was pleasant, shared several gluten-free menu items with us, and has a wonderful sense of humor. Excellent spot to bring friends or family. I'll be back soon!

We took a vacation trip from California to New York, and this Indian restaurant was at the top of our list. During our visit, we ate there a few of times. Fantastic cuisine, pleasant staff, and excellent customer service. The dish smelled mouthwatering and tasted quite good. Amazing work, guys!

Went back to this location after 17 years where we celebrated our 1st anniversary with our kids this time. Still a great experience and we cherished old times…great food, service and ambience!

Visited Utsav restaurant to celebrate my Aunt and Uncle’s marriage anniversary. We reserved a table for 30 people. We inquired if the restaurant has a private banquet hall/room, the staff said no we don’t. After reaching the location we found out there was a private room available for guests. We upgraded at the last moment to a private room. Would have been nicer, if the staff would have informed us about it earlier on the phone to reserve private room.

They have a lot of vegetarian food options available. The food was really delicious. I would recommend trying Lasuni Gobi, Malai Kofta, Chilli Garlic Naan and Mango Lassi.

Kudos to the Manager Jason, for arranging everything in the private room at the last moment. He was very helpful and attentive in the service.

There’s this lady in the staff, whose name I don’t remember, she was rude to my relatives who requested to see if we can reserve the private room. She should learn how to talk and behave to your customers.

Overall, I would highly recommend visiting the place.
