Beautiful hike with streams and views of ponds along the way. I did this hike with my dog and friend. Total mileage was 5.8 miles with 1700 feet elevation gain. Gets somewhat steep for about a half a mile at the 2.25 mile point going in. Trail is fairly well maintained. There was one tree down across the trail near the beginning which was slightly difficult to maneuver around. One spot at the base of the firetower with a good view and a great view from the firetower itself which is in good condition. The streams were great for my dog to be able to stay hydrated. Bugs were out in force when I was here on the 24th of May.

Mountain was a nice climb, but the last 2.5 miles of gravel road to the trail head are a disaster!
