VanDerZee Christmas Tree Farm reviews
13Great tree farm with an amazing selection! My wife and I found a beautiful blue spruce for $49 and enjoyed some delicious hot cocoa and apple cider. Having visited three other farms in the area, this is the place to go! Super friendly people with very pettable dogs.
We were able to find a 9.5 foot tree and a stand to comfortably hold it. There is a comfortable atmosphere and capable available help for baling. Our kids were able to get the necessary hot coco and I had a cider.
Wonderful, friendly and a very special day.
Update: our tree is 43 days old and has yet to drop a needle!
The Canaan Fir is super long lasting.
Great morning spent there cutting out tree and dragging it to the barn on a sled. Very nice people serving hot cider by the fire pit. Couldn't have been better.
They have two places on Stilwell Rd. We went to the newer place on the north end of Stilwell near 227.
The people are helpful and friendly. They shake the tree's to remove loose needles and bundle them making for easier transport. Good place if you want a 6-7 foot tree.
It was our first time but not the last one. So many trees to chose from. Friendly staff/owners
We just left there after picking out our tree. There were so many trees to choose from and the dogs were adorable. The people were very friendly and shook and tied up our tree so it’s easy to carry around. There was also plenty of food to buy which was nice and warm. We went last year and are coming here again next year.
We wanted to surprise our daughter in her new home. She and I were running late and and my husband and son arrived 45 minutes after the farm closed. No matter.sorry tried to upload this beautiful tree.
The people were friendly and helpful. My daughters had a hard time picking a tree. Due to the fact all the trees were beautiful! They even have hot food. Delicious chili and hot dogs. We loved walking thru all the wonderful trees. Definitely going back next year!
This was exactly what we were looking for when we set out to pick out our Christmas tree this year.
Basics:
- They have several excellent trees in a wide variety of types (Douglas Fir, Blue Spruce, etc.) so you can find your perfect tree instead of settling for "the most adequate tree available. "
- The tree farm has been thoughtfully laid out so everything is easy to find. The saws are very new (in the past I've felt like I was trying to cut the tree down with a butter knife), they give you a sled to haul your tree back with, and they shake of the dead needles and bail the tree for free.
- They also have equipment for a "pin stand", which if you haven't given a shot yet, please, spare yourself the 40 minutes of arguing over the straightness of the tree and pull the trigger on this set up.
Atmosphere:
- They have adorable, friendly dogs.
- Everything smells like a delightful bonfire.
- The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable.
- They have plenty of "I'm cold because it's winter and I could go for something warm" snacks. BONUS: the owners are from Maryland and they have fresh crab bisque. I have it on great authority that it is in fact rich and delicious.
That's all I got. VanDerZee tree farm was a great way to spend part of our day and has earned a spot on our family list of Christmas traditions.
A ton of good looking trees to choose from. Prices are reasonable and everyone there is very friendly and helpful. This was our second year getting our tree there and we'll definitely be back next year
I cant say ive been to the place but ive known the people most of my life in the past and they are some nice people and food was always great and everything was old-fashioned everyone worked together as families grow and break off and apart.
Great place! Reasonable prices on trees, sharp saws, large sleds for bringing the tree in to be wrapped. The owners were extremely nice and chatty, gave cookies and candy canes to the kids. The whole place is beautiful, lots of great looking trees to choose from and a very friendly yellow lab to greet you!
