So Yummy Chicken & Shrimp dumpling soup was a great broth, veggie steamed bun wasn’t my favorite but we still devoured every last bite of everything we got! You can get any of the dumpings with spicy/scallion/garlic added!

This review is not on the food but the absolute terrible service that I have experienced. I have gotten dumplings here over 28 times. I love this place but the current staff is horrendous. I spent over $60 on dumplings and leaving about a 20% tip at the register, usually takes 10 minutes to get the order. I mentioned that I wanted to eat at there and it wasn’t to go. They said ok. The food came out 40 minutes later … 10 minutes before closing time. While I was eating they mentioned it was closing. I thought ok I’m almost done. Then they came back out at 10: 05 (they close at 10: 00) and told me that they were going to call 911 on me for eating at the business because it was a place of business and I had no business and being there after they closed. I said we would be finishing soon and we would clean up and leave as soon as we are done. They yelled at us that the order was to go (which it was not) and they were going to call the cops because they were there since 9am. I’m really not sure what their hours had to do which our time eating there. All I can say is what an awful experience being at one of our favorite dumpling spots, after paying $60 for dumplings and leaving about a 20% tip at the cash register because you order at the register. Two female staff members were screaming at us while we ate, the owner apologized and said it was okay, but honestly who wants to be screamed at while eating.

Vanessa's used to have a location on East 14th Street in Manhattan. It was always a great place for good food at a really reasonable price. It was always mobbed with NYU students eating on the cheap.
Now I'm in Brooklyn and am happy to see that Vanessa's is too. The prices have gone up a bit, but it's still a great place for lunch/dinner.

Dumplings galore. The selection is wonderful and you can choose between boiled or pan fried.

We opted for pan fried pork and chive, boiled vegetable and boiled chicken and basil. We loved the pork and chicken but just liked the vegetable. The pan fried dumplings were caramelized perfectly. The crunch savory and oh so satisfying!

Service was quick and friendly and there is plenty of space for indoor or outdoor dining.

Great value for the money. For $30 we enjoyed three dumpling orders (8 pieces each), a water and a sangria.

I’ll definitely be a repeat customer.

Food is good but the two women behind the counter taking orders especially the one with cheap pink wig is roughed and nasty won't go back

I think this is a great quick lunch spot! Their food is on the cheaper side, especially for their location. I always get the pan fried dumplings over the steamed/ boil, I feel like there’s just more flavor! Their noodle dishes are super filling and they give a good amount. Not the fanciest place, but a great spot to grab some dumplings and head to domino park for a picnic.

Good dumplings, but never try eating in the restaurant. They have an enormous amount of pickup/delivery orders and do not prioritize those eating in the restaurant so you’re looking at a 30-40 minute wait for food.

I don’t know whether this place just hires whoever they could find without interviewing people or just desperate to find staff. The people who work here are so rude and disrespectful! The place is also dirty and unorganized, but the dumplings were good I guess.

I was so excited to come here because of the majority of great reviews but Ehhh, I'd give my experience here about a C-. I have the pan fried veggie dumplings which tasted dry and like they were frozen and the veggie pan fried wontons which were a bit better, both with chilli oil. Inside there was dine in offered but the place was full of flies, hot and didn't have an operable restroom. We ended up walking and eating. I don't think I would recommend this place to anyone.

The best dumplings in the world! Bar none. At least the best I've ever tasted. This review is for the Brooklyn store. I have eaten at the Long Island City store and it's good but not nearly as good as this one. Get the pork and chives fried.

We have just arrived in brooklyn and wanted to get nice dumplings.
My girlfriend is vegetarian and we ordered a vegetarian boiled and a spicy vegan meat fried.
I do not know for which reason the service was really poor, waiting time was unreasonable, my fried dumplings were not cooked.
I do not recommend it.

The food is good here but they are not as fast as they use to be. The dumplings are already ready but i always find myself waiting long times for just a order of dumplings.

Good place for a quick bite.
Food was good (plenty vegetarian options), but the restaurant was a little dirty and messy.
Next time I would not eat-in, rather do take-out.
Favorite dish: Veggie Wontons in spicy oil. Delicious!

One of my favorite dumpling spots! Super cheap and delicious. My go to meal is a hot and sour soup and an order of the pork + chive dumplings, make sure to add on the chili oil/cilantro/garlic toppings, super worth it. I prefer boiled to pan fried just because I think the dumpling wrap is softer and chewier that way. I like that they also have a large selection of bubble tea.

I got the vegetable pan fried dumplings and the vegetable boiled dumplings. They were both good the soup was the best part. The dumpling were about a 6/10. We got our food fast though.

I only rated this place a 1 because they wouldn’t let me give it a 0. I had the worst experience with this restaurant this week on Christmas Eve. The Hispanic cashier in the front was absolutely disgusting to me and my daughter. As soon as I walked in I was told both me and my daughter need proof of vaccination to stand and wait for my food in the lobby. After waiting an hour for a 2 item order i asked for refund for a incorrect order and I was told to stop crying and holding up the line. This woman shouldn’t be working in a restaurant with this attitude at all. I do not recommend this place to anyone. I was only able to receive a last name of this worker because she insisted that it was against store policy to tell your first. Hispanic woman last name Torress.

Cheap delicious dumplings and scallion pancakes. But the cashier is so hostile and rude it’s insane. Even if there’s no line you’re barked at and rushed.

Disappointed in the quality of the dumpling.
The wrap was too old when fried and my son and I tried to enjoy them but couldn’t. Also, we needed to go back to the counter 4 times to get the bubble tea. My son didn’t want to bring some frozen dumplings home because the ones he ate “weren’t good”. I will not be going back.
