Vanguard Gastroenterology - Broadway, New York NY

Dont come here. Went in for a Annual Physical that is free with my insurance but they charged the insurance with the wrong code for diagnosis which resulted in 78usd from the lab and 185usd for the visit. I spent hours trying to get this fixed already.

The doctor I see at this location is very sweet, however, the front desk ladies are incredibly rude and unprofessional to myself and other guests every time I visit.

I went to see Dr. Ada Ene for an annual check-up. She did not do ANYTHING. She never asked a single thing about me at all, but just checked boxes on her computer and told me I would be doing blood work. On top of that, she was behaving extremely weird - nervous, kinda flirtatious, shaky, and just overall peculiar behavior for a doctor.

I was told I would get my lab results in 2 days on a patient portal but they didn't even give me any login information. It's been a week and I still have nothing. I called several times and they kept hanging up on me or sending the call to voicemail.

Waited over 2 hours to see my new primary care provider here, Dr. Ada Ene. The staff kept telling me she would be with me soon, but she never showed. What a waste of time.

Their system is down. I couldn't register so I couldn't get my test record. Didn't get any help to register nor call from the doctor about my test results. Neither could I retrieve my prescription from the pharmacy I provided.

I visited back in early November. No issues with the doctor- she was lovely and helpful. My issues stem from the billing.

I’m amending a previous review - I had two incorrect bills months apart for one dr visit that were ultimately resolved and corrected. I use Nyship / united healthcare and was told that sometimes the incorrect billing happens with the insurance. This seems to be a known issue so hopefully it’s one the office is working to eliminate. While I appreciate the quickness the error was resolved after my last review- It’s stressful getting incorrect medical bills.
The office’s statements for an insurance billing are super confusing and should be revised to show clearly what’s owed minus the insurance.

My doctor, Dr. Waghray, is incredible, and I will definitely be back to see him! This review is not a reflection of the medical care I received here.

TL;DR: Vanguard has been harassing me to pay a bill for over a year now for a service that occurred two months after I hit my out-of-pocket max with my insurance company. Vanguard is in-network with my insurance, so there is absolutely no reason I should be asked to pay a penny.

Every two months, I get another email with this bill, and every two months I begin a wild goose chase with Cigna and Vanguard's billing department. Then, I'm always told, okay, we'll take it with your insurance from here. And then two months later I get the bill again and am told to call Cigna.

I have never written a negative review on the internet before. I never thought I would but this experience has just been horrific.

I highly recommend reviewing your bills from them extremely carefully should you decide to pursue care from this practice. It almost feels a bit icky to be honest the way this has been handled, as if I'll just give in and pay it if they keep sending it to me and dragging it out.

Medical care is great though.

Just visiting that historical building makes me feel better. Vanguard Gastroenterology has the best specialists in NYC
