I highly suggest that you stay away from this woman. She is extremely unprofessional and has zero concern for the patient. After being put on 2 anti depressants that made me suicidal I begged her for a low does benzodiazepine to help be through my major anxiety and panic attacks at night! She out right refused and said NO due to the fact that I enjoyed alchohol a bit too much, even though I have been sober for a year! She is a pathetic M. D and should he stripped of her license. I told her this much and more in my way out of her office. Makes me sick.

Best psyche I've ever had. Actually listens and always gets back to me on the same day that I call in for a refill.

I love Vera! I’ve been seeing her on and off for years now. While I’ll admit, she’s a little unconventional and her support staff aren’t amazing, I can always get ahold of her and quick. Even this past Friday I called about my meds needing to be adjusted and she called me back on a Saturday afternoon and got my meds called in right away. She truly cares for you.
Her appointments are super quick, but the whole time she is truly listening to you. She respects that I’ve played the medication game for so long and also have knowledge in the field and I truly feel like she lets me lead the appointments, in-line some doctors who talk over you.
Vera has helped me at my low, then helped me get off meds, and then after a traumatic experience and my all time lowest helped bring me back to functioning (along with therapy).
Also, I’ve seen some reviews talking about Dr. Simon next door for therapy and he is a FANTASTIC therapist who I had seen for years too. I was honestly so shocked by these reviews on here. Then again, most people will only review when they have something negative to say.

This woman doesn’t deserve a medical license. She diagnosed me with schizophrenia after ONE visit, despite the fact I had never shown symptoms of it and my therapist had explicitly told her I was experiencing symptoms of anxiety and depression, which she apparently ignored. She prescribed me antipsychotics which ruined my mental health, and I took them because I thought I should trust her. I never saw her again after that one visit and I hope other potential patients take this as a warning. As I was leaving her office she had the audacity to tell me that god would fix my problems, which I found deeply unsettling as religion shouldn’t be brought into science and used as a solution unless the patient themselves is religious, however I am not. Do not use her unless you don’t care about your mental health, in which case she’s perfect for you.

My son's mother and I are no longer together. I have requested her to tell me his appointment times, but she doesn't. Therefore I decided to go to the source. VERA HERSELF said, "It really would be best if you, mom, and your son all came to the appointments together. "

I left her a message saying I agreed with her opinion, and I asked for the next appointment time. She called back and said, "I talked to his mom, and the mom says the son doesn't want you there. " I asked if she heard this from my son directly, and she said no. I said, "Well then don't you think it is possible that his mom LIED? " She had no comeback for that, so instead she changed topics and said she needed to talk to the law guardian and REFUSED to tell me his next appointment time, even though his mom and I have joint legal custody.

There is one more thing about my son not wanting me there that I should mention. If that were true, then Vera could have offered to conduct the meeting in the following way: she gets his mother and I on the Zoom call first. Then, when it is time for our son to see her, I could leave the session. She didn't bother to recommend that. When I suggested it, she dismissed it.

I even faxed her my custody order to prove my rights, and she still wouldn't give me the appointment time. She left me a message saying that "it really is between you and his mom. " I called back and said, "Ideally, yes, but when I ask, I don't get the information, so I need YOU to tell me. " Once again she said that she needed to talk to the law guardian. I said, "No, you don't. That court order says I have the right to this, so tell me the appointment time please. "

Next thing you know, my son's mom emails me to say that Vera won't treat him anymore because she doesn't want to deal with me. That seems borderline criminal (or at least should earn her a CPS medical neglect report). Think about it: she said my son needs these medications, and now she is not going to see him anymore, thus cutting him off from them. (Hopefully this is temporary, as I know of other providers who can also prescribe these meds, but you get my point.)

Mom then tells me that Vera said I left "nasty voicemails. " There is a wide gap between "assertive" and "nasty, " and that is a chasm I never crossed. If I am calling because I want to assist in my son's medical care, why would I antagonize the provider? That makes no sense. Maybe if she gave people the information to which they are legally entitled, no one would have to get assertive with her.

Pretty much every other provider my son has ever seen has expressed GRATITUDE over my willingness to be involved. In this day and age where most kids come from broken homes, the noncustodial parent often doesn't have anything to do with the kid (s), so MOST providers look upon me as a breath of fresh air.

The woman was prescribing my son controlled substances. She was prescribing him medications that can sometimes have the side effect of causing suicidal thoughts. Well, I love my son, and I don't WANT him to have suicidal thoughts, so why wouldn't I be involved? Instead of respecting that, she is going to treat me like a pest? How ridiculous!

Also, it boggles my mind that it was HER OPINION that it would be better if I was there, but then a fourteen-year-old trumps that? Foolish.

Lastly, I think the fact that she called one parent to "talk smack" about the other is enough on its own to speak volumes about this woman's professionalism, or lack thereof.

In conclusion, IF YOU ARE A NONCUSTODIAL PARENT WHO CARES ABOUT THEIR KID'S MEDICAL CARE, DO NOT TAKE THEM TO VERA. TO HER, NONCUSTODIAL PARENTS ARE NONEXISTENT. Their concerns don't mean a damn, and she won't even talk to you unless you can somehow magically get the law guardian to call her. Her existence is a blight upon the medical field.

Vera Imperiale, NP consitently meets women and men and families and listens carefully
Provides a sound diagnosis and treatment plan
And then walks with an individual to walk out new strategies and new ways to walk thru tough life circumstances
I am most appreciative for her care of friends and family and have referred people to her.

I really don't understand these bad reviews. Vera has been nothing but kind, compassionate and accommodating. Vera was able to figure out what I needed in one session, when others hadn't been able to figure it out in a year. Highly reccomend her. She is knowledgeable and personable, as well as really good at what she does.

I’ve been seeing Vera for over a year now and at first she seemed to care about my case and wanted me to get better with my anxiety. All she does now is push therapy on me and whenever I have concerns about meds she totally disregards my case. Definitely won’t be back!

Vera broke my trust with physicians in general by being unprofessional and misdiagnosing me. Please for the sake of your mental AND physical health do not go to her.

Vera is wonderful, and has even helped me out when it was snow on the ground and she was closing the office, even though it was my fault I missed my appointment, she is always eager to help and great to help manage meds. I would highly recommend Vera! I have been seeing Vera for over 2 years now!

I would give 0 stars if it would allow me to! What kind of "doctor' hangs up on a patient in crisis? Without knowing a thing about them. This woman is a sorry excuse for a mental health provider. So lucky that I have such an amazing support system, others. At not be so lucky. When people finally reach out for help they don't expect to be hung up on. Shame on you Vera!

I've been seeing Vera for years for my anxiety, PTSD, & depression issues. She's been able to help me & I am so grateful for that. The appointment are always quick. However she is very hard to get in touch with if you need a prescription refill. I wish she was easier to get into contact with.

As a Healthcare provider myself I highly recommend Vera. She has helped so many people close to me who have tried many other avenues. She was the one who was finally able to truly make a difference. Thank you for all of your true support and help throughout the years.

Vera Imperiale is now located at 401 New Karner Road. Also if you're looking for her office, it didn't have her name outside, it said VIS Heathcare.

Terrible experience, from making an appointment to the actual appointment. Had to leave FOUR messages to get a call back and was hung up on at one point. As for Vera, she assumed everything about me and what was going on. Didn't even asked what my symptoms were. Being considered as a "new patient", she spent less than ten minutes with me. Accused me of prior drug use, and continued to insult me by accusing me of being high on drugs, because I had been crying in the morning and not sleeping at night. Asked me what I was taking before (THAT SHE PRESCRIBED) and then continued to lecture me that she'd be uncomfortable giving it to me again. When I didn't even want those drugs because it obviously didn't work previously!
She was totally unprofessional dressed in spandex and a hoodie, and literally got up while I was talking to ask the women outside her door what they were laughing and yelling about. I look forward to working with a REAL psychiatrist soon, and it's definitely not Vera Imperiale.
