2Terribly managed chapter. They were in local newspaper saying they cant recruit younger members. Im in 50’s…Took my dd214 into join to show support. Went back 5-6xs over a month. Said the mgr never got around to reviewing. Then changed and said didn't qualify. Sent into national and was instantly approved and got my membership card. Interior is tired and run down.
I’m an Iraq and Afghanistan Veteran who’s 16 year old son passed away August 23,2021. I walked in to the VFW and asked for assistance with a venue to feed ppl after the wake. I was told no officer was present and to try a local club across town. Unbelievable that 47 months in combat doesn’t get me the help I need from a organization named Veterans of Foreign War. I’m reaching out to the main offices to file my complaint. They could have picked up the phone and called an officer. I guess the Camaraderie ended when they received DD 214
