Overdue to leave a public review after two years here - absolutely fantastic, architecturally one of a kind luxury building with a staff that go above and beyond at every turn. A+ amenities. Great location, too, in a rapidly developing area - close enough to the main drag of HK to reach it in a quick walk, but far enough removed that you never have to worry about dealing with hordes of tourists and drunk 20-somethings at all hours of the day. Perfect balance in my opinion.

My only complaint would be not about the building or staff, but about some of my fellow residents. Some of them deem it appropriate to let their pets “do their business” in the elevator or hallways without cleaning up after. That’s heinous behavior, and it is not fair to force the building staff to deal with those messes. I’m also surprised that some of the residents here seem to have ongoing difficulty properly using a garbage chute and recycling bins. I do hope VIA/Durst cracks down on these habitual offenders.

Overall, amazing place. Could not be happier to be a resident.

If you’re considering an apartment at Via 57 West ask to work with Rabiya! My husband and I are relocating for work and she has been incredibly helpful and communicative! No question has been too small: Does the balcony glass go all the way to the ground (yes) ? Is there an ice maker in the freezer (yes) ? She even sent me a link to get a NYC dog license for my pup. Ultimately, we decided to get a temp furnished place for a few months so we can see how the city moves forward in the days of Covid-19. But when we’re ready for long-term housing I’ll be reaching back out to Rabiya at Via. Customer service counts!

Long overdue, but I’ve lived here for 2+ years so far and the building, staff and location are all perfect. Proximity to great restaurants in Hell’s Kitchen, shopping in Columbus Circle and the peace and quiet of the UWS makes this apartment ideal. Quality and finishes throughout the building and apartment units are very well done. I haven’t had a single issue with the apartment quality and staff has always been incredibly friendly and helpful. Highly recommend!

The most intricately and dynamic building on the west side highway designed by my favorite architect, Bjarke Ingels. The inner courtyard and the pyramid-like shape allow sunlight to reach all parts of the building, which is a rare commodity for many Manhattan Buildings. Definitely a stunning price of architecture.

Love it here. I've lived in at least a dozen buildings in NYC, and each has had its problems.

I really can't think of a single negative thing to say about Via and would probably rate it 6 stars if I could. The building and the apartments are very clean, the staff is super friendly, the walls are thick such that you can't hear any noise from neighbors, and importantly, it really feels like home. Also, the air quality in the apartment feels very clean and healthy, and the Scandinavian design of the building and the interior makes the interior feel very airy, clean and open (I should know since I'm Scandinavian myself).

I've read some of the reviews here on Yelp and - not to discount them or anything - but I've never myself even been close to experiencing any of that. I'm of course only speaking for myself here, but in my opinion, this building is the real deal.

I wanted to finish off by giving a special mention to the team who manages the events for the building. Since we moved in here, this team has arranged for anything from outdoor movie showings, spinning classes, pasta making classes, outdoor concerts, and a lot of events like this (all done on-site). We have gone to many of these, met great people and had a lot of fun. The team really cares.

This building is actually fairly social and everyone - anywhere from front desk staff to events staff to maintenance staff - has really been so nice to us. Oh, and almost the best thing about the building - they have 4 grills in the courtyard. Let's just say we have been grilling a lot this summer ;)

I have been residing at VIA 57 west almost since it opened four years ago. From the amazing staff & management, I knew I found home. Everyone in the building is kind and friendly. The cleanliness was always meticulous, the mailboxes and package system was flawless. The sales and management team have everything under control, and are great to deal with, and always had a resolution to any issue, regardless of the magnitude. I have had such great years here. The amenities are great, and the WOW factor of the Architecture always makes my friends and family stare at the beautiful structure from the outside, as beautiful as it is within! From someone who has been renting in midtown for over 10 years, I HIGHLY recommend VIA to anyone in the market for a new rental. You wont be disappointed. Waterfront views, the garden is great for cooking or just relaxing. Its so unique, garage staff is impeccable if you have a car, and I will always remember all the good times and memories from VIA. Thanks!

Been living here since Dec 2017. Clean and decent amenities, great management, and dedicated staffs. They listen carefully to residents and do care about the relationship as best as they can. I'm very satisfied with their service and quality.

Built by an arrogant developer who took advantage of green card selling program and adding low income housing apartments this building has collapsed once. Not the developer has a penthouse at the top and lives like King Tut atop his pyramid. It's so far removed from the adverts of community etc. The apartments are all odd shaped no wall is straight making it a challenge to decorate. This is the far west to the extreme of greediness by a developer who's claim to fame is lying and cheating.

One of Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG) architects designs, i really enjoyed seeing this! Also it is amazing to such a building between the skyline of Manhattan, wich is mostly filled with skyscrapers.

Nice views and environment. Management and staffs can be better. The design for my unit can be better and with more detail caring. Mosquitoes and bugs (some oversize) are major issues that we encountering. Great amenities and always have some nice community interactive activities.

Had a great time living here. Materials used in the apartments are very nice - the quality of the building is very good. VERY efficient maintenance team, clean building, bright lobby and hallway, and friendly doorman. Would definitely recommend friends to stay here.

Amenities are nice enough but management has no interest in providing luxury services or going above and beyond what they consider to be their jobs. So far my experience has been fairly disappointing.

Can someone please go into great detail about what's so bad about this building? Long lists are appreciated.

Don’t move here. I still have one month on lease but they keep calling me to show my unit to their clients even though I said NO. They said it is legal to show other clients while the current is still living, and they will let the front desk open my house. It sounds like arrogant threat. How stupid. Although it is no problem legally, what Luxury Apartment do management like that. Lol. I’ve lived in many high rise buildings in nyc, no any building keep asking stupid requirements like them. Even other buildings rejected and suggested me politely to check after current tenant move out when I said I wanna see some units, which someone was still living there. To be honest, I’ve regretted since I moved here in every single part. The only good thing in this apartment is night concierge at the front desk. Around via, there are so many new, luxury buildings which offer better deals, amenities and manaagement. I would never recommend anyone here.

Haven’t got accepted yet but I don’t think I wanna move there just spoke to a resident and she said please do yourself a favor and don’t move to this building it looks nice but it’s horrible they charge for heat and windows are not set properly and it’s freezing she has to place blankets around the windows also to get to transportation it’s a killer distance to do food shopping she has to go uptown there are no decent supermarkets at this area omg You would think living on 57 st would be awesome but it’s not all it seems to be Thank God I did my own interview before accepting any apt. I’m a keep looking into it

Great experience living here. Via 57 has an amazing staff and is such an architectural gem. You can tell that they have put an extreme amount of attention to detail into the building, inside and out. Only downside is that there is lots of buildings going up close by but that is Manhattan for you. Take a tour of the building and its amenities, you will be blown away.

Want to be greeted with respect and a smile? Well then DONT come here. My first time ever entering the building and I just had a simple yes or no question for the receptionist. After asking the question, the receptionist replied in an extremely rude manner.

Not only did he do that, but as we were leaving the building the receptionist even laughed and joked around with who I assume to be a resident of the building. Honestly? Absolutely disgusting staff.
