Victor's Cafe reviews
19Consistently excellent wait staff, host staff, and bathroom staff. Food is consistently excellent. Always a great experience!
Incredibly loud siren noise in the part of the restaurant I was eating in. When I asked management if we could be moved or for them to fix the noise they just ignored me. Terrible service and management.
I haven’t even finished my meal yet. I had to come on here to leave this review. Oh my gosh.food is amazing. You HAVE to visit. The best customer service I’ve ever had. Food exquisite. WOW
We came back tonight after originally visiting pre-pandemic. Service was exceptional and the food and drinks were amazing. I want to praise our servers, in particular Vicente & Shiante for a wonderful evening. They were so warm and welcoming. We will certainly be back!
Absolutely wonderful experience. Food was delicious. Service was one of the best I have ever experienced. All the food presentation is high quality with excellent presentations skills. Portions are on the smaller side but are good. We ordered croquettes and tostadas for appetizer. Really enjoyed both. A little ceviche that we each enjoyed a little spoonful (4 people of 6 ate it). Just enough to get us to dinner. The ropa Viejas was delicious. The desserts were really good. Tres leches and the churros. If you're in between. Get the tres leches you won't be disappointed. Would absolutely be back here again. The restaurant is also very nice and makes you feel like it's fine dining. 100% believe it's a great option for a date, or special occasion. Is a bit pricey but worth going for a special evening. Restaurant is in a good location, not far from times square. My parents absolutely loved it. FYI- we made reservation in advance (called in) about 2 days before and was easily able to get reservation for Saturday 5 PM. We got there when it opened, and by 530 the restaurant was 100% full. Highly recommend making reservations in advance. Also, they do require showing proof of vaccination.
Very pleasant atmosphere. Good food and pleasant service. We were here for Thanksgiving and the Cuban twist on the traditional meal was very good. Just wish they put more potatoes on the plate. The amount was really tiny.
We had to wait a long time to be seated even though we had a reservation, but the manager came by to apologize, which was very nice. She also comped the coffee to make up for the wait, which I am glad she did as I found out that they charge for refills (and I really do not like when restaurants charge for refills, especially when spending upwards of $100 for dinner). Given the nice evening, and the very gracious manager, I upgraded my review to five stars.
Extraordinary! We went for lunch before 2pm Wicked show. Service, speed, and food quality/flavor easily beats out many of the top restaurants in NYC.
Good Cuban food. Perfect balance. I just wished they had better beer selection as not everyone likes cocktails; however if you come here for just the food, I'd say it's the right place to eat Cuban food.
LOVED EVERYTHING about Victor’s Cafe! The food was amazing, the drinks were delicious, the atmosphere was alive and fun — there was a 4-piece band playing live music! Most of all the staff was amazing. From the hostess to our waiter, Joel, we felt so welcome and accommodated. Will definitely return!
Victor's was a great dining experience! Cuban food with live music. Food was wonderfully prepared: fresh sauces, entrees done to perfection, Excellent cocktails. Attentive, friendly service. Great place for a special occasion.
I'm sure there's a million reviews but let me be the million and first to rave about this place. Salad (field greens) entrees ("old shoes" Rojas vieja? , Roast pork), drinks (sangria), dessert, (guava flan), service, atmosphere all excellent
Diego the server was charming, knowledgeable and efficient in service. Was not a fan of Cuban food until this; extremely delicious.
- Firstly, staff here is amazing! I was about to walk out after feeling like I was left out in a corner, but they brought me to a different table to be met with great food and service. It was a pleasure to meet with GM Francine (I hope I spelt that right) and Soul and the other hostesses.
- The manager and GM even checked up on me at my new table. The effort they make to ensure their guests happiness is something I wish all places had. I’ve traveled a lot and their hospitality is top notch. Food and overall experience muy bien.
Great place with authentic Cuban food. Nice atmosphere with live music some nights. If you are into wine, ask for Armando. He knows all the hidden gems in the cellar.
We went for dinner
Nice vibe
Live Cuban music
Dinner was great
Customer service was excellent
Definitely will visit again
The food is good but not great. The drinks are the same and small for the price. We got the Havana Spice and La Jefe for drinks. La Jefe was enjoyable. For appetizers we had the Bartolito (bad and microwaved) and the Special of the day which was apparently a giant tomato with watery avocado dressing (it's like your child making breakfast for you). For the main course we had the PARGO EN CAMISA DE PLÁTANO (fish with plantain crust) and PONLE ROPA A LA VACA (Duo: Skirt & Braised steak). The fish was decent but the steaks were both dry and salty. The portion was also small.
The atmosphere: Just ok. The bathrooms are located downstairs and this woman was just lingering there on her cellphone-it was creepy and I didn't realized she worked there. The main dining room has way too many seats for comfort. The day was slow and we had 3-4 waitstaff constantly come over. It's hard to complain or praise that because when attention is not given you feel it. The main area had a nice view of the bar and glass that separated outside.
Overall, I probably would not return. The first experience was good enough and there was nothing that would compel me to return. If you have not tried it and do decide to go please try the fish.
The food is delicious but what stands out the most about this place is the absolutely perfect service from very professional staff that makes your experience unforgettable.
Overpriced but good. Drinks are fun, food portions are small but the food is tasty. Considering the location, probably one of your best options
Awful Cuban food no flavor at all so over price for nothing. They really need to go to Miami n have some cooking lessons.
