School is great, helped me a ton, on campus placement not so much.but school, and Jay Street therapy is definitely what's saving the villa.great programs.

Horrible place to work. They expect you to know everything from day one, managers are clueless how to treat people, hours are horrible and do is the pay.

Wish I look at these reviews before and Wish I can give 0 stars. Do not send your children here. My experience was bad. Overall not a good place for any children. I’m happy I got my child away from there.

This place sucks. I was a resident 2 times here, I ran away and went on the run. The staff don’t care and are disrespectful and that is prolly why they always get injured. If your looking to keep your kid out of trouble here wouldn’t be it, this place is a joke and sets your kids up for failure expecially if they know the area.

I am one of the kis of this placement. I do not suggest this place for kids that struggle with bad outburst, depression or for kids that need a lot of support. Just letting some people know that if you run away from this placement many staff will not follow and will report that child missing until the police have found them and if there is any trauma that happens when the kid ran away from the facility none of the staff and counselors will belive or support any of there trauma. In some cases kids get into fights and steel. If anything is stolen they won't check other kids stuff and will not replace it. But if your kid needs a school with support and smaller classes I would all the way set your kids to the villa school it is open to public and kids at the villa the staff at the school makes everything safe and teachers make learning so easy and fun. They go with your child every step of the way and help with success they are small classes 3 or 4 kids per class so if you need a school with good support for your mentally challenged and smart kid.

I placed my application for rental assistance back in October of this year. I was in contact with the head of that department, Mr Levar Sanders. Once my application was submitted, I was no longer able to make contact. I reached out via email as well as phone, yet recieved no response. It has been 2 months and still no response. I left direct voicemails and messages with other staff, yet I still haven't recieved a response. I reached out to another agency for rental assistance and they said they would reach out to Levar Sanders concerning my application seeing how they had a Zoom meeting scheduled with him 5 minutes later. It's been over a week and STILL no response.
I noticed that the Villa of Hope was only ranked 2.7 out of 5 on Google. With the experience I had with your company, I am not surprised of such a poor rating. I came with an urgent need and made immediate contact, only to be blatantly ignored soon as my application was submitted. I would rather had been denied than to be openly ignored while constantly reaching out for help. There is NO hope in this "Villa". I have nothing but an ill experience to share about this company. Yes, I am very upset. My family was in desperate need when I reached out. Yet we were ignored like junk mail. My problem has not been resolved and is worse now. Thank you for your false hope!

This is the worst place ever to have your child at. They allow things to happen to your child that should have never happened and then protect the kid that abused mine. This place needs to be shut down and investigated. They allow other kids to take things from people and never replace it. They went through soooo many staff people it's totally outrageous. I tried posting on their Facebook page and they blocked me. I caked the cops but nothing was done because my child was to afraid to talk about what happened. Please everyone read the reviews because this place should be shut down. I wish I could do no stars for this place of hell.

This organization is the worst place to send a family member to. Councilors and therapist lie and make things up. They mentally abuse their patients. They lie and fail to communicate with family members. They struggle to keep staff help because how the councilors and therapist treat patients. Don't send your family member here. This place actually deserves 0 stars. This organization should also be investigated!

This is a terrible place. I fear for my son’s safety, mental and physical well-being, being in there. They don’t treat it like a treatment, they treat it like a prison. The staff lies and get away with it. I strongly, STRONGLY urge any parent considering placing their child there to look elsewhere for help! It is an absolute mockery calling this place a “Villa of Hope”!
If I could give the Villa of Hope zero stars and get this review posted I would- that’s the only reason I even gave it one star.

It is never an easy decision for a parent to place their child into a residential placement. We adopted him when he was 5 years old and did everything possible, along with multiple agencies and services to help support him. After all the attempts, there were not any other options at that point. We found him a placement and was told that he would be coming home each weekend, after the first weekend, we had a conversation with the counselor about our concerns about weekend visits and was told that his behaviors were our fault! We continued to try weekends till we had the police at the house, at that point, he was taken back to the house. The counselor called us the next day telling us we had to come back and pick him up. When we said no, she threatened to call CPS on us but he was already 18. After that, we had a very heated Zoom meeting involving Villa of Hope staff, OMH, DSS, and the school. The issue was that there were not any rules or routines at the group home, he was up all night, not showering or brushing his teeth and using their internet inappropriately. We were told multiple times that the hot spot was turned off during non-school work hours but that was a lie, as we were getting phone calls from the school principal at 9 at night, that our son was using his school Chromebook inappropriately. It took them over two and a half months before we ever had a family counseling session or a family advocate. The house was not and still not working on any interpersonal skills or supporting our family. They kept informing our son that he just needed to sign off that they would not have to tell us anything that was going on. We continued to fight for our son, as staff would not respond to emails or our concerns. When school started in September, it got even worse! He was failing all his classes and was being suspended due to unsafe behaviors due to the group home not supporting school. We set up another meeting with the house staff and some higher ups in the agency. The day of the meeting, they coerced him into signing the paper so that they would not have to deal with us. I am still not sure how they got a child, who isn’t functioning at an 18-year-old level, to sign off on something so important or talking to him about the ramifications of doing such a thing. They fed him the ideas that he was 18 and could do whatever he wanted to do. All the things that we were told they would work on with him, has never happened. There isn’t any more family counseling, they are driving a wedge between our son and our family. They are talking bad about us; they tell him they do not want him speaking to us or visiting with us. The agency is upset because we have been advocating for our son and causing them issues, due to them not doing their jobs or giving our son the support to become a part of society. The agency is failing our son and our family. When we did voice concerns, higher ups in the agency said that was a voluntary program and we could pull him out, instead of doing their jobs! Besides my own son, I am concerned about all the other children in their care. They are teaching them how to live off the system and teaching them any life skills that they should be, how to get along with others, hygiene, money management skills, job training, or housing. It is also disgusting that the OMH is not doing anything either to support these kids, they just turned a blind eye as well. Our son is a lot worse now since he was placed in this group home. I also hear horror stories, that if they have not found a placement for them by the age of nineteen, they dump them off at the homeless shelter in Rochester. The sad part is that he will be in their care about a year but the amount of damage they have caused and the family issues, will take years to fix and rebuild the family connection with our son! Please, I beg you, please do not ever use this agency for your child or do not donate to them! Both the Villa of Hope and OMH is failing our kids!

This is not a good place for substance abuse treatment. I feel empathy for any family that has to go through this program. Thankfully I am educated & resourceful enough to call OASAS & request an advocate. My child transferred to this facility from another facility that has closed the doors to adolescents. My child was doing phenomenal at the last facility & the services provided were more professional & beneficial. At Villa of Hope, be prepared to have prior arrangements tossed out the window & being laughed at when following up with the therapist. Be prepared to worry about your child because there’s no one to talk to about feelings without the fear of repercussions. Also be ready for your child’s support from a previous facility to be denied. Although being objective is key to the delivery of services, rapport with the client and family are very important components to treatment. This will not be found at Villa of Hope. Hopefully enough families will report unethical behavior to OASAS and the state of New York so a thorough investigation will be completed & change will finally come. Until then, I’ll continue to pray for clients & their families.

I can not say enough positive things about the villa of hope. They have gone above and beyond my expectations and needs. No matter the circumstance or situation villa of hope has someone that can assist and help whole heartedly. Substance abuse, mental health and all around well being for your life villa of hope is where you want to go. I can’t thank them enough for their time and patience

My for any youth going to the Villa is to mind your program and do you so you can get out of the cottage as quick as possible.

The Social workers; are great and they seem to be the only ones that really do care because they have a degree and specialize in Therapy. MW & EP are the best!

Great place and friendly staff who care! Beware the other reviews regarding personal information about the Villa and Youth at Tuckahoe and Campus. I ensure you it’s a great place to learn skills, although there are tough days.the rough ones makes the better ones. A+

Please don't go here or take your child here. I went to the school, one of their students abused me while we were dating (not on school property), I told them about it they did nothing, so I told other students about it and they suspended me for "causing drama". They mix kids with ptsd/anxiety with kids who have behavioral problems.they're understaffed, the teachers and TAs are nice but the "support" staff are unhelpful and rarely available.please consider another option for schooling. I can't speak for their other programs, but this is my experience with the avalon/villa of hope school.

Im 35 years old, actively addicted to opiates and a cornucopia of other chemicals for as long back as memory can safely stretch.have experienced several different outpatient settings. Im aware that many things are circumstantial, and most would probably argue that any outpatient would have been the right one when the time came. I can't say that because that was not the case. What I can say is that it is the first time I have worked with an outpatient and truly felt that the people I worked with were working with me with the intention of helping as much as they are capable. Thats not to say that I don't have my doubts, as a natural born sceptic nothing save very little has completely cleared my suspicions.none the less Im grateful that this place exists at this point in time, and that our paths have converged.
