Vinegar Hill House reviews
17Best pancake I’ve ever had. Exceptional breakfast sandwich. Lovely atmosphere. Highly recommend.
I like the USDA certified organic chicken, pasta, salad and dark chocolate cake. Every dish has a refined satisfying taste.
Our evening was perfect! Top notch service and food. They helped us celebrate my parent’s 50th wedding anniversary in the best way. Thanks for the extra touch at the end!
The rigatoni, pork chops, and rabe were all fantastic. Vibes are perfect. Wine was delicious. One of my faves!
I visited this on my last trip to NYC as one of the most recommended places in Brooklyn. It was disappointing. I mean ambience was nice and service pretty kind, but food was poor. As a european citizen, this was far away from a good meal. Also the cost of the dinner was preety high for the quality we got. I'm sure you can find much better restaurants in the city for the same rate.
Different pancakes but good. Good service and cozy atmosphere. Hopefully they have espresso soon.
We had our intimate wedding ceremony at Vinegar Hill House and Karl and his team were amazing! Our day was absolutely magical and we all had the best time. They were so accommodating and the entire process was phenomenal and stress-free. I highly recommend this gem of a place for any special occasion. Thanks, VHH!
Excellent food and incredible atmosphere, but VERY BAD service! I made the reservation for 9 pm and I had to wait 20 more minutes for my table, then the food took a long time to come out and the waiter's attention was very bad. Honestly, I would think that I would love to return for the food but the attention makes me hesitate.
Nice air, but poor taste. I would have another latte to fill my vacancy. French omelette and quiche were totally disappointed.
Went for brunch
Pancakes were interesting. Next time I'd get syrup on the side.
Roast beef sandwich was pretty dry. Would not recommend but the bread was good.
Roasted potatoes were good
Sourdough pancakes are really unique and worth the experience! I would ask for the maple and butter on the side just so you can taste the pancake on it’s own.
We also got the roast beef sandwich but it wasn’t particularly standout. The sandwich was dry and the roast beef felt like deli meat but the bread was very delicious.
Super small menu, portions are equally small but high priced. The food was good. Great service
We came as a group of four for dinner. The restaurant had a bustling local vibe but was not crowded. Service was fast and attentive. They offered a decent wine list, as well as non-alcoholic beer and mocktails. For starters, we ordered the cheese board and sesame bread. My friends enjoyed their pork chop and chicken mains, but my vegetarian Reginetti pasta with stacciatella cheese lacked flavor. The restaurant felt overpriced and I wouldn't return.
Simple food cooked extremely well & I loved each and every dish we ordered. Attentive service. Over all excellent!
Long time customer of VHH, love the cozy atmosphere and what they have done to offer private events. The staff is helpful with pairings or picking food. Its great to sit downstairs in the winter and stay for hours eating and drinking. Love the atmosphere and the cozy space. Get the chicken
This is our favourite spot in NYC. Excellent staff, amazing food. An experience you’ll never forget.
Tried their apple pancake and it was an absolute delight! The pancake was fluffy and packed with delicious apple flavor. The combination of sweet and tangy notes was perfect. The cozy and rustic ambiance added to the overall charm of the experience. The service was attentive, making the visit even more enjoyable. If you're a fan of pancakes and looking for a great brunch spot in New York, don't miss out on this gem!
