I was appalled by my experience after calling the restaurant about my Uber eats order that was missing a component. I called the store to express my frustration and the person on the phone asked for time to look into it. She called back a bit later asking me to send her a photo of my partially eaten food. I was confused and irritated at the same time by the response. I couldn’t understand the purpose of the unnecessary photo. If the food was untouched maybe then it makes sense. Otherwise, how would you know I didn’t consume or remove the missing components? When I told her the request was pointless she quipped that Uber eats would have asked for the same. I was done with the conversation at that point. I made it clear to her that I hadn’t called the restaurant to ask for a refund and wasn’t interested in sending pointless photos. I was also clear that my interaction with their restaurant will likely result in me never patronizing their establishment again. So in addition to the overlooked component in my dish, their attempt at customer service was simply insulting. I have ordered from this restaurant too many times but I guess that’s the double edged sword of improved access—everything is so impersonal that your frequent customers are treated with little regard.

The food is amazing and was made with love! We had gotten the okra & goat stew, fufu, jollof rice and beef stew. Everything tasted so yummy and will definitely second to everyone I know!

Hidden gem! I got the joloff rice with fish and it was perfectly flavored and a little smoky-tasting which was so pleasant. Fish was crispy and perfect as well. I only wish there was more seating.

Fufu and Mafé (peanut stew) are so good the people are very welcoming and generous on the sizes. Will visit again for sure!

Phenomenal food and service! Ordered the Waakye and it was amazing. First time trying it. A friend recommended this place this to me, and they didn’t steer me wrong! Definitely will be returning. If I could I would’ve took a plate on the flight with me! My new go-to spot while in the NYC

I ate here when I first moved to the city and it was great at first. I ate there about 2 times in the beginning. However, for some given reason, their food has been terrible lately. My last 2 orders were awful. My very last one, which was ordered and delivered today not only smelled expired from distance, but also tasted like it was expired. $100 plus dollars on multiple items and nothing is edible except from the plantains. My Malta is also missing and I believe this isn't the first time a beverage is missing from deliveries. Idk what is going on, but they need to fic whatever it is. I am fighting with doordash to give me back my refund because that is just ridiculous.

The food is good. There needs to be a dress code for the person handling people food. The woman dishing out the food had her bum up in the food. She was wearing a panty hose as a pants and you could see her butt crack as the thing she was wearing stuck right up on her. That was a major turn off for me. There needs to be a dress code. I could not enjoy the food because that was all I could think about. Sick.

Food was alright but extremely overpriced and small portion. For 2 small soups a fufu plantains and serving of beef it came out to around 100 dollars which is was absolutely mind boggling to me. The portions weren’t even that big.

Best African place in NYC! My husband and I just recently found this place. We be ordering late night African vegan kitchen on Uber eats. The jollof rice is the best jollof rice we’ve ever had we usually put the tomato stew on top of it. The plantains are also very good. Waiting to try more stuff on the menu. Authentic African taste. The owner is very nice too

I felt like I was transported back home to mum's kitchen. Very tasty dishes that does not just emphasize quality but also quantity.

The rice and beans and collard greens I ordered had NO SALT and NO SEASONING. I had to season the food myself with the salt and peppercorn grinders from the pantry at work. Unsalted and unseasoned food should not be coming out of a restaurant labelling itself African. The rice and beans were just rice and beans boiled together, just that, no indication that it was made with vegetable oil, stock, coconut milk, or anything that would add a kick to it. The colour of the rice was also VERY different to the picture they have on Seamless. And for whatever reason, every time I order on here and make a special request to have fried green plantain they STILL send the ripe ones, when the green ones are on the menu as a side. I honestly never wanna order from here again. So infuriating. This meal wasn't even close to being mid. *suck teeth*

Amazing Food the Best! Definitely 5 stars. Taste like it was cooked right in Africa. I will always return anytime I am in New York.

I ordered jollof rice with chicken and egusi and it was good! The server was kind and the food came out fast. The only downside was the cost. The small lunch portions with tax already go above $20 - talk about inflation! So while I did like the food, I don’t think I would make this my to-go lunch spot unless I can expense it to my employer.

Yes for typically African flavors. But for the rest I was left wanting more (figuratively speaking). I can't wait for the general framework to be a little more lifted for the pride of black Africa.
