This place in the winter is a peaceful walk with a nice pool of water. And there is a duck blind
If you are looking for tidy paved trails and picnicking facilities, nearby Four Mile Point Preserve would be a better choice; it is also fully accessible. This is more in the spirit of NY's "Forever Wild" areas, and is a beautiful wildlife management area to explore without having to worry about wandering too far from civilization. Minimal land has been too badly disturbed for the sake of paths and trails. Numerous bodies of water, including ponds, vernal pools, the swamp itself, creeks, and even small waterfalls, and lots of unique sorts of areas to see interesting plant and animal life, including pine and hemlock stands, a small sphagnum bog, and lime bluffs.
Love the outdoors, so this is just a nice quiet place to do some bird watching
