Vroman's Nose Hiking Trail reviews
14Amazing views. Highly recommend during golden hour like in the picture. Can see for miles. The hike up isn’t to complicated. Can be a bit icy when it’s winter. Trails are marked very well and are dog friendly. Places to sit periodically on the trail going up made.
Absolutely gorgeous view at the top, and maybe one of the best in this region. The hike isn't too difficult and didn't take long at all.
This hike is not too hard. There are two ways; steep short cut, or longer way. Beautiful view on the very top
I love this place I love hiking up to the top of it and looking out over middleburgh New York hopefully someday I will live there with my fiance in a log cabin house up in the hills where we buy some land this is originally where I was born at awesome place recommend it very much
Only downside is I found several large branches of hemlocks on the ground heavily infested with the invasive hemlock whoolly adegid.hope the the trees are able to be rescued in time before the entire Forest looses all its good evergreens!
Great hike! About an hour round trip, with some amazing views. Fairly easy to moderate hike uphill
This is my favorite leisurely day hike with the best views at the top. The view is over a valley with mountains in the background and fields, homes, farms and fields below. It is a loop trail of about 1.5 miles and can be done by the vast majority of people, even us that are a little out of shape. The trail is really easy to follow and is dirt, not rock, so sneakers are good. As you start up the trail you come to a sign "Green Loop Trail" where the trail to the right is longer but more gradual and the trail to the left is shorter but steeper. Both these trails are part of the loop trail. Most of the trail is shaded but not the top. The top feels like a cliff with rock hanging over air. Once you get to the top there is about 100 yards of a relatively flat trail that runs near the edge with great views. The last view is the "Nose". For those of you a bit cautious of heights, there are trails away from the edge where you can walk and then approach the edge with more comfort. There is a good parking lot.
What a beautiful hike! I've lived in the area for a long time and somehow managed to never take this hike before now. I'm a bit out of shape so it was quite the workout for me and my little dog but the view at the top is worth it!
Want to say, not that easy.
If you are not experienced, may be try something else.
But surrounding is amazing.
The best hike in the Schoharie County area! First part of the trail is a little steep, but not that bad. At the top the views are fantastic. On a clear day you can see the farms below, and the surrounding hills and distant mountains. Great views of the valley. Watch your footing at the top, there is a steep drop off and it can be treacherous!
Simply beautiful!
Nice hike, excellent for bringing dogs as the loop is only around 2 miles or so. Had an amazing day!
Great views with minimal effort. A quick mile hike up to outstanding views of the valley below. Good hike for children and dogs. Can be muddy I. The spring and crowded on weekends and busy seasons.
This lovely hike is a must, the views of the valley are something you truly need to see if you're in the area.
A fun trail which leads to phenomenal views of the Schoharie valley. A little wet on the steeper downside of the trail, but still great fun!
