Walter's Hot Dogs, Mamaroneck NY

Everything tastes like cooking oil/gas. Also a regular hotdog w a squished bun that has been cooked too fast so it is raw but tastes burnt at the same time. Fries were fine. I don't get the hype but I suppose if you grew up with it it's probably nostalgic.

A landmark with the best hot dogs and curly fries anywhere. A joyous experience. Love Walters.

Shoestring fries. Good New England clam chowder, nice and creamy, lots of clams and potato chunks. Single hotdog comes sliced in half on a toasted bun with either mustard or ketchup. No sauerkraut or chilli sauce is ever on the menu, however.

Hot dog was delicious. The mustard was outstanding. The atmosphere is also great. I would recommend this place to anybody. There should be a lot more places like this in the world

My Grandparents went to Walter's on dates, they took my Mom and Aunt here as children. When us 4 grandchildren came they took all of us here.
Walter's Is Awesome! The food is Awesome! So many happy family memories here!

This was the first time I ate there. I was told by my brother that this was a great place but I had to try it for myself. He was right, I ordered there renowned hot dogs and they did not disappoint. They definitely are some of the best hotdogs in town!

I can't believe I grew up in westchester and never knew about this gem! My fiancee and I drove all the way from poughkeepsie just so I could try these world-famous hot dogs, and wow, they did not disappoint. The puffy dog was incredible, and that mustard was out of this world! The potato puffs were def my fave, tho. They also have a really nice area to sit and enjoy your delectable dogs. The staff were also very friendly and helpful. We will most definitely be coming back soon!

What a great spot! There’s tons of parking in a gravel lot around the back and a few tables with benches on the side for outdoor dining. The place itself just a small stand but our pick-up order was ready super quickly. There’s also a bathroom attached to the restaurant, which is nice.

The hot dogs were tasty and we liked the mustard. The potato puffs were perfectly crispy and and had soft potato fillings. We loved the french fries and how crispy they were and were glad we splurged for the chipotle aioli. Our milkshakes were also fantastic and the clam chowder was loaded with clam pieces. Super tasty! Just be cautious of the squirrels in the outdoor eating area — they were very brave and a little unsettling. We had to make noises to scare them off at some points during our meal.

Been coming here for years. An absolute gem. They have gluten free rolls now! Picnic area has expanded so much over the years. Went 40 minutes out of my way to stop. Always worth it! Buy some mustard to take with you. It's the best!

I really fell in love with their iced coffee mocha milkshake (along with their classic singles hot dogs). Also their house mustard and whatever type of sriracha hot sauce they have is so good!

One of the best hotdogs in the world! Its a must go and get a couple that they make there and then get like 20 pounds of packaged dogs to bring home and cook on the grill! They are the greatest you will be very happy if you listen to me.

The hot dogs are very good, don't get me wrong. But I don't understand how a hot dog place doesn't have optional toppings like sauerkraut, onions, or even chili! It would be like Five Guys only offering ketchup or mustard and no other toppings on their burgers. It makes zero sense. I understand the place has been around a long time and that it's an icon, but it could be so much better with those simple additions. That's basically the reason that I only eat at Walter's a few times a year as opposed to weekly! I'd opt for a sabrett truck or cart given the option so I can have something on my hot dog other than mustard. Their mustard is also very good by the way, but it's just not enough.

Love the little Grove area to eat. Hot dogs from Walter's are the best! ' Only complaint is that my fries were not hot and crisp. But minor issue still worth the trip!

Best hot dogs in the NY metro area - maybe the whole northeast (not looking to get into a beef with Chicago)! They have their own hot dogs made for them from a century-old family recipe, and their mustard, too (buy a bottle to bring home - great on a ham sandwich!). In fact, this roadside stand has been in place for about a century, and has been designated a historic landmark. The lines can get long at peak times (all outdoors), but it's worth it! Been going there for 60 years. Whenever I come back to Larchmont/Mamaroneck, it's my go-to place (along with Sal's Pizza)!
