The food might come out slow, but it's absolutley worth it. I recommened eating your food their while it's fresh out of the kitchen. This place is a hidden gem the food here is insane.

Be careful with ordering delivery here because you may be gaslighted by the restaurant. We ordered 2 meals to be delivered in Astoria at 12: 25 PM with a delivery time of 1: 15 PM max with 3 different fees paid for this (delivery, service, and other). We got a call from the restaurant at 1: 10 PM informing us that our order was ready for pick up, which we responded with no as we placed this as a delivery as we paid 3 different fees. They responded by saying that the order came to them as a pick up and not delivery so we will have to pick it up, which is a lie and they continued to gaslight us about this. They said that if we do not want to pick it up we will have to call Grubhub for them to schedule a driver to do a pick up, which is a first since the order was already placed as a delivery and a driver should have been assigned once the restaurant confirms that the order was ready for pick up which they never did. They said that this was unfortunately a system error and we will have to contact Grubhub as they cannot do anything, but once I hung up they marked the food a ready and a driver was assigned to pick up the food to have it delivered to us by 2: 30 PM so the food would be sitting there for about 1 hour and 20 minutes which is unacceptable since one of the dishes had dairy.

We called Grubhub explained to them what happened and they confirmed that there’s no way that a delivery order with additional fees paid would never arrive to a restaurant as a pick up. They cancelled the order for us as we did not want to eat food that has been ready for an hour and half in fear of food poisoning due to the dairy in the dishes. Horrible delivery experience so be weary if you order from them and there are other reviews here with a similar story.

I find myself coming more and more to this hidden gem. This place stands out from its counterparts due to its fresh food and fantastic service. You might have a slight longer wait than in other places but! The food is done to order and not sitting under a heating lamp.

Adding this place to my weekly rotation for sure. I’ve ordered delivery from Warique at least five times now and, if done/ordered within a reasonable distance, it gets delivered quite fast.

I’m looking forward to trying to the rest of the menu.

This is one of my favorite Peruvian places to order from in NYC Queens. The food is always fresh and delicious. Their Aji de gallina is a traditional Peruvian dish that I always order from here and I just can’t get enough of. I am not from Peru, but this dish is very much a comfort food for me. It’s sort of like a chicken stew in a delicious sauce made with yellow aji (peppers) which I believe is what gives it that beautiful yellow color. There are also some pieces of boiled potatoes under the stew, as well as hard boiled eggs and a black olive. It’s served alongside white rice. Very rich and flavorful not salty at all. Try it!

I love going for the lunch special. Don't forget to order picarones for dessert! 10/10

The food is very delicious, for me it is the best Peruvian Restaurant in this area, it is a small place but with great flavor in its dishes, it is undoubtedly a place worth visiting.

Friday, October 27, I decided to go out to eat with my daughter and looked for a Peruvian restaurant and based on the stars and the score, I thought this one was the best. We asked a couple of questions to find out what they recommended and the waitress said she was new and didn't know the menu. To begin with, we ordered a jelly to share and first they didn't provide us with plates so we could share the appetizer, then for our main course my daughter ordered a a lomo saltado and I had a male winged fish and an order of vegetables we were having dinner near the window next to the wall and the glass when suddenly a cockroach started to come down, they also noticed but they didn't say anything, we didn't say anything until the The cockroach approached the place where my daughter was. I called the waiter and the girl to show it to them and they did not take the appropriate solution. The waiter, as nothing happened, reached out with a piece of paper and crushed the cockroach. They moved us to another table with the plates so we could finish.to eat and not even an apology was offered, we asked for the bill and left. I hope the owner can see this message and educate his staff on how they should take an appropriate solution.

The service was very bad, I requested a takeaway order and they told me 25 minutes and it took almost 40 minutes for it to be delivered. During the call they told me that the Jelly was for 3 people and it wasn't even for one person, below only lettuce and yucca 2 shrimp 2 shells and the rest of the squid that doesn't reach a portion of squid anywhere else. Terrible in every way and they additionally charge you even when you pay with a credit card. I hope you don't have the disappointment and embarrassment with the people I invited and they ended up hungry for this meal.

A cozy Peruvian restaurant in Elmhurst, a bit of walk from subway. The food was delicious especially when paired with the green sauce. Salad was a bit meh, cerviche, steak and fried squid all hit the spot followed by decadent desserts. Service was friendly and quick.

Food, service and ambiance are great. Gonzalo the manager is awesome. He's very attentative to us and other guests. He's very welcoming as are the other waitres at Warique. The owner is a nice fellow also.

Cute, small restaurant with larger ambitions. Fresh, well-prepared food, prompt expert service, comfortable surroundings. Can recommend and would return!

Not one person speaks English in here. Difficult with relaying and comprehension of food allergens. I agree with a post below this place USED to be so good. They either changed their chef or owner. The chicken used to be so crisp. If I can give zero stars I would. The food was horrible. We came for lunch Please bring back the old chicken and sesame FREE fried rice.

Excellent in every way, I love eating in this place, the atmosphere is welcoming, not to mention the seasoning is great

We live in Jackson Heights and went here because of the New York Times review (though years old). The food service staff spoke no English, which we didn't mind - we communicated somehow, but the food, oh - the chicken and rice dish was so dry and tasteless, we had to keep asking for water refills. We were three people and still the restaurant added an mandatory 20% service tip, and a line on the bill for extra tips. We were shocked, but decided not to challenge it. We were happy just to get out. Never will we return, nor recommend this place.

It was a very nice experience, the customer service was spectacular and not to mention the food. It really is a highly recommended place.

The food was good, but the service is why I come back. I've been to both locations and the staff is very friendly and the dine-in area is very nice.

Did they switch owners? Came in at 8: 20PM on a Wednesday they told me the kitchen will be closing. Ordered our food. They were already cleaning in the back so we ate with fumes of bleach. The food is absolutely not the way it used to be. Fried rice now has sesame oil? (I’m allergic and has always ordered from here) Chicken was not cooked at all the way they are known for. Chewy skin. If they switched owners or chefs this place is now a flop. We also had fried calamari which was good and the chicha morada. My friend had the special fried rice and the shrimps weren’t cleaned. Total waste! SKIP AND SAVE YOUR MONEY

6/21/23 7pm food was delicious as always but service was awful. Waiter did not offer drinks. They did not clean table after entry. And 20% service was automatically charge at the end.
