Wasan Brooklyn reviews
16I tried to give it a chance when I went in to eat because if the entrance isn't very nice, and I end up having what I thought, the food, especially the sushi, was very bad, I didn't like it.
Very good Japanese sushi. Had 3 roll sushi set for $17. Fresh. My daughter has been here a couple of times and enjoys
Unsanitary and rude waitress. The water cup that the waitress came with had lipstick on it and when I told her about it, she didn't apologize and seemed like it was no big deal.now people are more carful about being sanitary because of covid, flu, etc. But the restaurant didn't seem to care.
They made me tip $13.00 saying that it’s something you’re supposed to do in NY making it sound like a law. Food was bland, wasn’t even that good. The eel tasted weird.
Service is excellent, the miso soup is very delicious, and the staff are quick and attentive. Water was refilled promptly. The sushi rolls are okay, not good, and not bad. Would pop-in if you need a quick dinner and are close to the Barclays Center, but not a destination spot. It's cheap compared to other sushi spots.
Friendly staff; however I would not recommend for sushi. We did the takeout dinner rolls and the pieces were very tiny and only contained one item and wasn’t worth the price. Unfortunately there is definitely better sushi elsewhere.
Was alittle nervous when I saw it was what I consider a hole in the wall… but the food was great (soup, salad, sushi rolls, green tea panna cotta). I love eel and there was barely any bones well atleast I didn’t feel any… and the waitress suggested a good sake for me.
The hand roll set for 2 is so good. It's also fun to assemble your own roll however you want. They provide you with 6 or 7 types of fish, fresh vegetables and sauce to make your rolls. The staff is friendly, I'll definitely be going back!
Worst sushi and ramen I have ever had. The sloppiness of the sushi was embarrassing, the rolls were falling apart totally unevenly cut, and looked not fresh. The ramen tasted like Maruchan, and if you don’t know what that is, it is instant ramen from a box… I won’t dare to call this Japanese food…
The lady serving us was lovely but unfortunately the food was mweh. The dumplings didn't had much taste unless you eat it with lots of sauce and the noodles weren't great either. Lots of flies in the outside seating area as well
There is a separate "late night" menu that's much shorter than the dinner menu so unless you're already aware or order something that happens to be on both you can get a bit tripped up when it's time to order. The garlic fried chicken was good, but could have been a bit crispier since it was getting sauced anyway. The spicy shrimp tempura + avocado roll was also okay, but definitely felt like there was a high premium being paid for a roll that could've been gotten elsewhere. The outdoor seating is nice but is also a bit restrictive as far as walking space is concerned.
Stopped here early, 11: 30am, for a quick bite. Angelo, my server, provided perfect attention and suggested a special that included salad when I ordered 2 vegan rolls. Pumpkin and Avocado rolls were yummy and Angelo asked if he should inform the chef (Of course!). Love ordering sushi. It’s made to order and very fresh. Nice atmosphere. Good service. Lovely vegan options.
Japanese fried chicken, miso soup, sushi (salmon, yellow fin, tuna and scallop) with Wasan Brooklyn salad.
Very fresh fish and veggies. Rice and chicken both cooked wonderfully. Staff is super nice and really cool vibe.
Probably the best Japanese food I've had outside of Japan. Love this place. Thank you!
I’m Japanese American and this is my favorite Japanese restaurant. If they ever closed I would cry. My favorite is the bento box with grilled salmon collar. Japanese food is so much more than just sushi and ramen snd Wasans menu gives you all the authentic details.
Food is great, but the service is ridiculously slow. You’re better off ordering on Uber eats and having it delivered to your table, than waiting for the server to get your food to you.
