Waterzooi Belgian Bistro & Oyster Bar, Garden City NY

Had a wonderful brunch today. Our server Mike C was very attentive.
When our French toast with berries was missing blueberries he told the manager Scott who went to the local supermarket to get them for us! Amazing customer service all around! Will definitely be back!

The place is really consistent. Food is great, drinks are good, and they have Belgian beers on tap that are difficult to find.

I had a light dinner with my friend last night. We don’t want eat too much so We ordered a salad, calamari and steak dinner and a bottle house white wine. The food is fine.about 9: 30p btw.i double checked with the servers business hours (closed at 12am.) since we sit down, they start rushing us to leave. It has a lot of table space available. And we sat at a corner around by entrance. Left around 11p. Then stay outside chat for about 30 minutes. My friend’s steak wasn’t good, ordered medium received medium well.

This used to be one of my favorite restaurants. I don’t know what happened. Ordered the mussels oreganato and the ones on top were dry. The sauce wasn’t hot. I like bread with the sauce and was told that bread is by request so I requested it and it never came. Ordered the jumbo shrimp and they were small and one was just the tail. There used to be a lot more choices on the menu. To charge as much as they do and then not to give bread is insulting. Never going back. Used to love it.

Amazing mussel pots. 2 people can share a pot and appetizer for a meal. Plenty of broth to soak up with bread. Mixed drinks were also good with a good selection of Belgium beers.
The mussels are really where they excel. Entrees are 3 star. Not worth it.

They play the music too loud, it's hard to have a conversation. Too pricey for my liking!

I give the food five stars, and the service four stars because no one smiled, or was friendly, beginning with the manager. He did not go table to table to greet the patrons.
The atmosphere is of a mediocre Diner, with tables too close to each other, and little walking room. The noise level is ridiculous, and because it's a family restaurant (?), too many small children.
For $235.00 paid for our meals, (3), there are restaurants with better ambiance, atmosphere, service, and comparable meals for less.
This is not a restaurant to have a romantic dinner, or celebratory dinner.
It'll be a while before I return.

I have no idea where the mussels are sourced from, but 2 hours after having their mussels I developed food poisoning. Will not go into specific details, but if you’re on the fence of eating seafood, make sure to ask how fresh they are and where they were obtained from and how it’s prepared. My friend also stated the bathroom was dirty and unkept. Red flag

Last but not least this restaurant has TERRIBLE hostess service and the waitresses are not friendly. Its as if they hire any joe shmo without any proper training or basic human etiquette, a disaster.

It's a fine restaurant but a bit too crowded and noisy. The food is very good and the service is also decent.

I used to go to the Port Washington restaurant and found their food and service exceptional. The Garden City version has a like menu as Port Washington. The staff in Garden City appear more busy and slightly less friendly than I hoped.

Overall, a nice place for a special occasion. It's pricey but a fair amount of food for the value.

We are regular clients here. At least 1 or 2 times a month we visit. Octopus is very tender. Oysters and clams are always fresh. Bar tender Mike is the best. Love this place

Food is good. Long time customer here. Got kicked out at your bar today because the dude with white beard at the front desk said we can’t sit at the bar. We’re like balls being toss between table and the bar.

Great Belgian beer selection and delicious seafood, can't go wrong. The Waterzooi seafood meal has such a rich and creamy broth that I am still thinking about!

Very quaint resturant, came here for a baby shower and little tight but food was good and service was impeccable.

Excellent. 2nd time here. Top notch seafood. They specialize in mussels. They come in a big black pot to share and are wonderful. Very friendly wait staff. Remember, you get what you pay for.

A local gem with a wonderful seafood selection! I had a great date night dinner with mussels and escargot, this cute place is good for any occasion. Wish there’s a place like this in the city!

Jose and Max were awesome great service. Answered all my questions being it was my first time there. Food was delicious had the Waterzooi and Bouillabaisse Mussel pot. Again no complaints. Thank you for a great experience

Absolutely phenomenal sea food which is unique in taste. Their original waterzooi entree dish is amazing!

Food is phenomenal as always and the service is just as good! Drinks were strong! No complaints!

I know this place specializes in mussels but I have to say the Bistro Burger can not be overlooked,
substitute fontina cheese in and we got a series gourmet Burger! And the fries dipped in garlic mayo "MAYONNAISE" im doing it im gonna drown them in that stuff, thats how good they are!

This was our 1st time at Waterzooi in Garden City, Long Island. Upon walking in, felt authentic European interior. Welcoming staff. Table Service is experienced and professional. Food top quality. Wait staff so in tune, overheard it was our first visit to Waterzooi. When our meal was finished, just before we left our table, the Manager paid us a visit. We had a nice 10 min conversation with her that added to our wonderful experience. We left there better than we arrived. My wife and I will absolutely be back to Waterzooi in Garden City.
