I regret to inform you that the trash collection service provided by this company is abysmal. The garbage bins are often left IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD for days, creating a nuisance for the entire neighborhood. Customer service is practically nonexistent, leaving you stranded with your complaints. Avoid this company at all costs for a headache-free waste management experience.
Unfortunately for most people they have a monopole in the Hudson area but soon, if they keep going this way they will find themselves closing their doors…
We had service in the town of Tivoli and we will NEVER again contact this company.
Maybe look at the reviews lately and see is time for change, take this as a constructive critique.

12/01/2023 Finally resolved my issues with this company by cancelling my service.

09/26/23 Welsh continues to miss my pickup but never missed sending me a bill. This time they picked up my recycling and left my trash. "Did you leave it out the night before" asked their customer service as if to reverse blame right away. Time to dump this trash company.

This company is turning into complete garbage.

2023 update. Welsh missed my trash pickup. I notified them by asking for an adjustment on my next bill. They then missed another pickup during the same billing cycle. I notified them again. No credit on my next bill. I notified them again. No adjustment. They were great until I had a problem.

Original rating until I had an issue:

I have used this service for residential trash pickup for a year now. I have had zero issues and the pricing is reasonable. An every other week pickup would be better for me but not offered. I would recommend this company.

I had to come on here and leave a review. I’ve seen some negative reviews. We have had nothing but amazing service from Welsh sanitation. Chris is the gentleman that always answers the phone or calls me back when I leave a message. They have been extremely gracious about picking up the trash on a different day when I have forgotten to put the cans out. Can’t say enough about this company. Outstanding all the way.

A truck just flew through my neighborhood which has a 15mph speed limit and did not stop at a stop sign, just made a left without stopping and was in the middle of the road

The customer service here is an absolute joke. On several occasions, we've discovered our garbage bins carelessly placed in the middle of the driveway or on the road. Despite our repeated polite requests to ensure the bins are returned from where they were picked up from, it seems it's too much to ask for. When we call for clarification, the sheer audacity and attitude we receive is appalling. If this is your idea of customer service, the owners should be made aware of the careless individuals representing them, tarnishing the name of Welsh. Goodbye

Shortly before Christmas 2022, while performing his weekly service on my road, Roy came to the assistance of my neighbor. Steve, my neighbor, was having a health issue and was lying on the ground. Roy contacted the proper medical and police authorities. He remained with my neighbor and comforted him before and after the medical and police groups arrived. Although my neighbor succumbed to his medical issue, Roy let my neighbor know someone was coming to help and Roy would stand by. That's a hero in my book.

I have had service with this business for 30 years and two bins in my possession, a normal bin and a recycling bin. I called there today to let them know I have another option for recyclables for a few months and was told I must return the recycle bin of 30 years and pay them $10 to take the recycling bin away. What? I told them I plan to use it again in a few months but have another option temporarily and said in order to have money deducted off account then I need to return the recycle bin that I use maybe once a month as is as it’s just me here. They should be reimbursing me for all the times not using it and still paying the recycle fee (recyclables take a while to fill a container as a single person) I have family and friends who live in other states and their sanitation removal is paid for by their taxes.

Terrible communication. For three weeks, I asked why they didn't pick up my garbage. They didn't know. They did not tell me they had subcontracted to another company that picks up six hours earlier.

Update to a previous negative review from several years ago. I am very happy with the guys at Welsh. I have a tricky driveway, and when it ices up, they still manage to get up a hill on schedule, even if it means coming back for me later in the day. For special requests or services, the guys at the office are easy to contact and quick to respond. I consider the pricing to be fair for good service provided.

Kudos to Welsh Sanitation. My lazy butt didn’t get the bins to end of the driveway and I missed the pick up. I called and asked if I had actually missed the pick up or if they had been out of service for some reason. It was, entirely my fault. The wonderful woman I spoke with could have told me to wait until next week, but instead said if they had any trucks in the area, they would stop by. Sure enough less than three hours later the trash has been picked up. Thanks once again to Welsh Sanitation for fixing my mistake!

A customer since 1994 ~ 28 years. I am on automatic payment through Welsh. I did not realize they had not taken a payment since March due to a new debit card. This left my account only 3 payments behind of $80 each or $240. No courtesy phone call. Although a phone call was made to Vanessa at Welsh, she still had the bins picked up yesterday. I wonder over 28 years how many $80 payments we have made to Welsh Sanitation on time. I called Vanessa today with no resolution. Although we have been loyal customers for 28 years, since Rao Sanitation, our account was of little value to them. Canceling service is an unsuccessful way to collect past due money. Now that we don't want your service there is no need to pay the balance in a timely manner. Their customer service rating is quite low. Customer service goes beyond just picking up the trash. Every account contributes to the success of a company.

We have used this company for years, starting with Royal Carting. We recently purchased a new home and started using
their sister company Welsh. I have been so pleased with this company. Being new homeowners and used to a certain pick up day at our old house, we got our days mixed up and forgot to put our Pails out. I called the company and spoke with one of the girls in the office and she sent the truck back out for us FREE OF CHARGE! UNHEARD OF anymore! We have also been having issues with our mail (USPS has been having a hard time like most) so my check had been lost thus putting our account in default. I called the office and spoke with Vanessa who assured me everything was OK and that I'm human and it happens. She made a note in my account that should my lost check show up to either shred it or return it to me. She was professional, courteous and understanding which is hard to come by I todays world of bot calls and exhausted utility reps. I highly recommend this company and will continue to utilize.
