West 54th Apartments, New York NY

I love living here. Just re-signed the lease for our third year. What makes it so special is the amazing people that work the front desk always making us welcomed home. Shoutout to our amazing doormen: Omar, Al, Irving, and Joe!

Five star men manning the desk. Super friendly and competent. Special shot out to OMARRRRRRRRRRR! Really makes the place feel like home. Management much improved and friendly as well. Andres super friendly as well.

All of my service requests have been addressed very effectively and efficiently and with a smile. I really appreciate that. Thank you guys!

Scheduled sometime to look at units in this building as I was considering it. Units I saw smelled. The leasing agent (I think his name was Jihad) did not know anything, he said some of the units I saw were not actually available but he had me see them for reference. I asked what is available he did not know. Also he mentioned some pricing on these units and some larger ones were cheaper than a few smaller ones so I was confused? I asked him and he said "the computer kicked out these prices" and provided no explanation. Apparently if you do not lease unit within a few (three or four) days of your visit the monthly price for you will go up dramatically? What an odd building - did not end up living there

THE WORST MANAGEMENT EVER - Even though the staff is friendly, they are NOT HELPFUL AT ALL when it comes to helping out the residents to easily move in/ repair/maintain. And they are the WORST when it comes to Money. During Covid, I asked for a relief and they said NO - then right after my lease, the immediately provide 60% lease decrease which is just so stupid as before they claimed they couldn't afford to give me the relief. We moved out for 6 month or so and suddenly received the CREDIT COLLECTION FROM THEM FOR NO REASON. All the management staff are pretty dull and irresponsive, it takes them forever to respond, the super is also unfriendly and unhelpful. Another IMPORTANT thing is the apartment is FULL OF ROACHES. I do not trust all the reviews as I believe a lot of them are from the employees themselves - PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM WEST 54TH APARTMENT.

Building is very expensive for what it is. Doormen and service staff do the best they can, and are the lone bright spot, but building management is terrible. One of 2 elevators was out of operation for 2 full months with no communication or explanation from the building. There was also a fire in the building, seemingly caused by a disgruntled tenant, which endangered the entire building and for which we were given no details. Security in the building is minimal. Amenities largely run down.

Easily the most unorganised and worst luxury building I’ve lived in. The leasing office never replies to emails or phone calls, it’s been ~3 months and still no reply about details about my security deposit. Sent around 25 emails to different people in the building but in vain. Please reconsider before moving here. The concierge staff is amazing tho and always very helpful. But west 54th takes your money and won’t reply.
