Whitney Museum of American Art reviews
9Go, visit and have a wonderful experience. Don't miss the views from the balcony and the bay windows
Wonderful collection of 20th and 21st c American Art. I especially enjoyed the temp expo about Jasper Johns. The audio commentary was good, but some artists and artworks were not sufficiently covered.
Went to see the mind/mirror - Jasper Johns exhibit. Iconic collection and for anyone new to this artist it's easy to see the transition in this style over the years. There is a parallel exhibit of mind/mirror going on in Philadelphia Museum of Art if anyone is interested!
Love this museum
the Jasper Johns is sensational.make sure to listen to the precording of the show while you're walking through with your headphones
Definitely an underrated art museum, but absolutely loved it! Their exhibitions are very unique and full of interesting art. They also have an outdoor gallery upstairs complete with a view of the Hudson River - a pleasant surprise! Would go again. Also, be sure to check for when their free hours are and go then!
BEAUTIFUL and has 8 floors of ART. There is a roof sculpture garden that gives you a GREAT VIEW of NYCs west side and at night it just Glows. I STRONGLY suggest everyone put it pn your List to visit.date its a nice place for it.
Always love it here. Amazing art and architecture, wonderful views of the city. Restaurants are actually very good, for dinner or lunch here too.
Interesting. Engaging. Very friendly and Family oriented, with such an Excellent display of art. The staff and ushers are very polite and informative of the works they are securing. The various levels have something for every taste and touches the imagination.
Extensive collection in a minimalist setting. Some art needs too much explanation and context to be enjoyable for my tastes, but I respect that the Whitney is indeed a grand institution, and for good reason. Plus the High Line goes all the way there, and you can combine your visit with Chelsea Market easily.
