Winnie’s Bar reviews
14Has potential to be a very comfy spot but unfortunately the bartenders are extremely unprofessional and racist. They give song and drink priority to white and other non-Asian customers. If you try to speak to them they are super rude. Will ignore you or otherwise act like you are inconveniencing them by asking them to their job.
Ironic that this place is in Chinatown when they discriminate against any Asians trying to request a song.
We need some moderation here. Let’s get Sven on KJ duties. This dude sang 47 songs tonight
Really cool space but unfortunately all the bartenders are extremely rude and disrespectful to customers for no reason. We started getting yelled at upon walking in and it didn’t end all night. Stay away. Go to Asia Roma 6 minute walk away.
Bartender was extremely rude and judgmental all night, clearly hates his job to the point that it was uncomfortable.
Staff werent the friendliest but fun karaoke and good times in a cheerful little dive bar.
Karaoke spot. Had a blast. There's an outdoor/pateo area. Kinda cold in the winter but if it gets full and you're moving and singing you should be fine after a drink or two in. Bring singles to tip for song requests.
Very good selection of songs but not the best. There’s a few they don’t have because they rely on YouTube Karaoke. (A bit lazy). But the sound system is great and the staff are cool.
I've been itching to find a quirky bar with Chinese beer and karaoke streaming from a laptop running YouTube ever since the Golden Cicada served its final glass of maotai in 2019. Surprise, surprise—was Winnie's a revelation.
My companion and I stopped by the small bar on a Saturday night at opening time (8: 00pm), and we were the only patrons there for approximately an hour. This gave us plenty of time to enjoy some Tsingtao and soak in the ambiance. Things quickly became exciting as a large crowd quickly gathered and karaoke began in earnest.
Set up shop and sing the night away with the helpful staff, covered terrace, and reasonable costs.
Generous pours, takes a bit to queue your songs for karaoke but a good vibe to hang while waiting for songs
Crowded, slow service, and I spent an hour there and couldn’t figure out how to even put my name in to sing.
Great karaoke bar. Bartender gentleman who typically wears trucker hat and tank top is very rude and unwelcoming to people, or on a power trip. Everyone else is very nice. Avoid him at all costs, though he runs the song queue…
It is insane that in October 2022 they don't let you get in if you don't have your vaccination card with you. Get over it already. I won't be coming back to this place. Wish you all the best
No other word than terrible can describe my experience at Winnie’s; not because of the venue but solely because of the bar staff. I have never met such egotistical, arrogant, judgemental people in my life. Picture having to listen to rap music because the bartender and security guard think they’re ‘too cool’ to let paying patrons sing karaoke at A KARAOKE BAR? Winnie, jokes on you if you think your business will survive with these rats running the bar. If you dare to visit, you definitely won’t sing karaoke, and if god forbid you happen to get some mic time, you’ll be mocked, and wish you hadn’t. Good luck!
