The place is small. The size of most studio apartments in NYC. No large groups. Groups of two are best for sure but three or four ppl will be pushing the limit. Outside of that, the staff are wonderful. The food is top-notch for this little place. They do have BYOB and they limit me to just one bottle. So just bring a bigger bottle if you are big wine drinkers. They have plenty of vegetarian options. Vegan options are available, however I will suggest speaking to the staff. To make sure it is vegan. I had the avocado curry and it was good. The spring rolls are nice and crispy and freshly made. This is a nice spot for a quick lunch or dinner for sure. However, this place is mostly known for their take out, not indoor dining.

This hole-in-the-wall Thai place in Hell's Kitchen was such a great find! Excellent food, extremely hospitable staff, and very efficient service.

We had the Shrimp Cake, Bangkok Veggie, and Nam Sod and enjoyed all of the dishes! Definitely worth a visit

So good! Didn’t even get to take photos! Best Thai food in the city. Better than fish cheek, soothr, or uncle boon

Great little gem in Manhattan. Authentic Thai food, no frills, may have to wait a bit to get seated but the food is certainly worth it.

Summary: I would come here again with maybe one other person or consider doing takeout. The food is very good just the seating makes it challenging and the portions are not particularly large.

We came here for dinner at 7pm on a Sunday night with a group of 5 and had to wait ~35 minutes to get seated. The seating is extremely limited, to get an idea of how small the restaurant is there isn't even a bathroom. The staff are very friendly and do their best to work with the space available, keeping things to a decent cleanliness and working with shuffling tables/seats around where they can but I really wouldn't recommend trying to go with more than 4 people.

Onto the food: the food itself was really good and fairly priced for the area. We started off with 2 apps and a soup: the calamari, the fish cakes, and tom yum soup. The calamari was among some of the best crisped I've had, and the fish cakes were also really good, and both are priced fairly but the portions were also very small.

For entrees we got the basil fried rice with chicken, the basil crispy pork, and the chili soft shelled crab. All three were very good and again, priced fairly in my opinion although the portions might be a tad on the smaller side, or we were just very hungry.

Nice homely location with excellent Thai food. Per a close source who is Thai, this place is very authentic.

Real authentic Thai food. It isn't like another Thai restaurant. The food here is like you are in Thailand.

Great authentic Thai food. Smaller place that you will need to wait to find a table.

One of the best larb salads I've had. Great rice too.

I had a great meal and service. We were initially seated outside but my dinner partner didn't like the incline of the sidewalk and they kindly allowed us to switch tables. My dinner partner ordered spring rolls and shrimp pad Thai. I ordered the papaya salad and side of sticky rice and key mao noodles. The rice came out popping hot in little bamboo warmers. The papaya salad was medium spicy and it was a tad too spicy for me but tasted so good. This is normal in my experience at Thai restaurants, so I wasn't bothered. I did request my noodles spicy level to be adjusted to mild to give me a break and it came out perfect. The spring rolls were sufficient and the pad Thai was too sweet for me (I also find that common as well). I would definitely come back. Took 2 extra sticky rice and the rest of my papaya salad home to munch on.

The food was terrific for lunch pickup. Curry puffs were savory and soft with a flakey exterior pastry. Pad see ew was good, which for some areas in the city, be difficult to find.
Will be back to try some curries, but I hear the food here is pretty authentic.

This is an impressive restaurant. It's a hole in the wall, with only a handful of tables but the food is really a step above.

I suggest trying a noodle dish. The Rad Na is just exploding with flavor. It will leave your taste buds confounded on how a soup dish can taste so good. The Pad Thai and Pad Se-lew are also very good and highly recommended.

The Bok Choy is great as well, but a much different flavor profile. It's flavors are subtle are delicate and it may take a few bites to fully appreciate the flavor. But well worth it.

The Avocado Curry was good, but it's not very spicy and while tasty, other dishes are tastier.

I look forward to returning and trying more dishes.

You can find the spicy plate Thai menu here. The homemade spring rolls for an appetizer with plum sauce are perfect. I want to have more. Thai papaya salad is outstanding taste and is nearly authentic.

This restaurant is tiny but is the epitome of traditional and authentic Thai food. Make sure you ask to see their Thai menu for even more options. The staff is friendly and service is fast. So happy I found this place. I’ll always go back!

Just a quick update on my review: they have exploded in popularity and when you go, expect to wait for your table.

Although I did not drop a review until recently, I first tried Wondee back in 2016 and regularly went there for lunch when I lived in Hell’s Kitchen.

It’s been almost 8 years since I stepped foot inside and the food remains authentic and consistent. I have become good friends with the wait and kitchen staff and they always do an amazing job.

Thankful for this tiny restaurant and a community that reminds me of home!
