This was our first year at the camp, my children will not stop talking about all the wonderful experiences they had throughout the summer. I especially appreciate how they incorporated their core values into the program. Such a unique and character building experience. We will definitely return next summer.

Kids are forced to change their clothes and get naked in front of the other kids because the counselors take too long to change in the stalls. Bullying is also allowed and nothing is done about it. Campers are free to bully whoever they want while the counselors just stand by and watch it happen. The kids are forced to go swimming every day, even when it is cold and raining. It is a very competitive environment and fighting breaks out between campers and counselors making it a very hostile environment. The choice of foods is also lacking and non inclusive. If you are a vegetarian you are out of luck as there is only a veggie burger which is not available daily. If your pottery is deemed ugly by counselors they just throw out your artwork which is hurtful to the children who work hard to make it. Not a nurturing environment. The staff is terrible. The bathrooms are disgusting!

P. S. I am not in the camp system because I am a family member of campers who went the past year and yes, this review is for this camp.

As a longtime camper and now staff member, I think Woodmont is simply the best place to spend your summer, as a camper or as part of the amazing staff. For its campers, Woodmont provides a safe, comforting, and extremely friendly environment in which your camper can grow in a short 8 weeks. Campers get to participate in so many different experiences to help them grow socially, physically, and skill-wise. Campers at Woodmont participate in an amazing instructional swim program, one that makes sure they advance and learn new skills each and every day. In terms of activities, Woodmont truly has something for everyone. The camp day is filled with an even distribution of arts, athletics, adventure, and water activities. Campers who are initially apprehensive about trying something new, like the aerial playground, are encouraged by their counselors and friends to face their fear and "go for it. " Woodmont's campers and staff truly embody their core values of kindness, confidence, and respect. Woodmont's top-notch administrators have done a fabulous job of instilling these values in our campers and staff every day, which is evident by the constant cheer, encouragement, and excitement that fills camp. Every person I've ever met at Woodmont is nothing but kind and caring. As a staff member, I also think there is no other camp that values their staff as much as Woodmont, understanding that day camp staff can change a child's life. Administrators and other staff are always ready to lend a hand and provide positive encouragements. When Woodmont says "where camp is family, " they really mean it. The community that you find yourself a part of from spending a summer (or two or five or fifteen!) at Woodmont is indescribable, and the memories and friends you make will last a lifetime. I've personally grown so much as a person from being a counselor (and camper) at Woodmont - I couldn't recommend it more!

Woodmont is an amazing place to work. The days there are uncomplicated and fun. I step onto the bus at eight in the morning, and arrive an hour later. As I walk to my group, I’ll see a dozen people that I know; counselor, specialist, administrator, or even owner—whatever their position, since everyone regularly works together, and the hierarchy is so limited, odds are that they’ll wave, smile, and say good morning. When I see my group head, she'll relay to me everything that I need to know for the day, from helpful reminders about campers who have horseback riding lessons, all the way to exciting news about the special events at camp—disco parties, treasure hunts, haybale rides—and exactly when my group will be enjoying them; she'll also check in with me throughout the day to ensure my success, tending to any needs or questions that I might have. Then, I’ll see my co-counselors, with whom I’ll be working—and quite naturally from that, bonding—all day long; and my campers, whose faces will light up as soon as they see me. With them, almost exclusively, I’ll spend the rest of the day, going from one exciting activity—basketball, baseball, drama, fishing, climbing tower—to the next; between them all, I’ll more than likely share a couple of good laughs. And suddenly, in what feels like a surprisingly short amount of time, I’ll be back on the bus going home. Once there, I’ll get a couple of hours to relax, read, and be with my family, before falling into the deep slumber that only an honest day’s work can bring—excited thoughts of tomorrow filling my tired head.

This camp is amazing! There is so many different activities and events for the kids and the workers are treated so well. The owners are very nice and are involved everyday trying to make sure everyone from camper to staff is having a good time. Working here makes me wish I went to camp as a kid.
