Wyndham Garden Chinatown reviews
15The room was nice but it was extremely hot and they did accommodate me they picked and chose who they were going to accommodate over heard the manager say he was going to refund another resident but when I asked he said I should've asked for a fan smh
Staff are friendly and the view is great.
However, for the last two days the AC has not been working in the entire hotel and the inside temperature of the room had been at 80 degrees.
No attempt was made to tell the guests about the failure or offer any compensation for the mishap. The situation could have been better handled.
Great location, comfortable and affordable! Walking distance from great restaurants and attractions.
I'm not the type to leave bad reviews but unfortunately this one didn't meet our expectations. Very nice staff, clean hotel but Air conditioning was broken in the hotel our mini fridge wasn't cooling and we had 2 rooms none of the fridge was cooling.
We complained about the heat and one the staff really lied about it being fixed when our stay was 4 days and never cooled? NYC summers are very hot!
The AC was out atleast 24 hours before my stay. I received no notification even upon check in. It was not until I returned that I found out it was not working at all and was not able to transfer to another whyndam due to this particular one being privately owned. I asked due to health reasons and they could not. My room was atleast 80 the whole night per thermostat. Another customer who was complaining stood up for me and said due to the humidity and severest of my asthma I could suffocate due to heat. I was informed manager and owner were informedof the AC issue. Their was a note put on my account and will be calling owner tomorrow.
This was a birthday surprise for my daughter, which ac out kind of ruined it.
I will note that the evening staff did what they could providing me fans and a big bowl of ice which I attempted to make own cooler (with bowl next to fan) but only managed to cut the humidity a little. I did ask for a Styrofoam cooler which they could not procure at that time.
On top of that the curtains next to bed were extremely gridy. Visually didn't even need a black light.
SKIN RASH- i got a bad rash on my leg after sleeping on the bed in the hotel room.i don't recommend this place if you want to sleep in a clean bed.this place sucks for being a "4 star hotel".
also their guest services and manager are fake because they're nice on the surface but don't actually help you.we asked them multiple times to fix our toilet that wouldn't flush consistently but they never sent someone to fix it.that is just disrespectful to the gentleman who has to clean our bathroom.
This location was excellent! Loved being in the heart of Chinatown & Little Italy! Room was in good order. Staff was friendly. Two great restaurants attached to the hotel. One an outside bar area with a super cool vibe. And the Shinko restaurant attached has the best late night ramen you will ever eat. I recommend!
Just a good hotel, nice location with Grand St as subway station. Staff was friendly. Rooms are clean, bathroom ok, shower is a bit outdated. Unfortunately we got a room on the "wrong" side, with no view whatsoever. The rooftop bar is very nice with an amazing view over the Empire State. Just a good hotel for your needs in NYC, nothing special about it.
Nice decor, everything felt pretty new. Room and bed were nice, but the bathroom didn't have a fan or sound insulation, and the shower had a half glass wall and no curtain, so taking a shower resulted in a wet floor.
Before this hotel was built, it was a hotspot for moviegoers in Chinatown during 1984. The photos posted here were taken in Sept. 2006.
Overall a solid hotel. The rooms are small, but that's to be expected in NYC. It was kept very clean, and the staff were helpful. My only real complaint is that the shower didn't have a door, and in such a small space, you ended up with water everywhere in the bathroom.
Great location, smaller but nice rooms. Elevator needs fixing; rooftop bar has nice view but mediocre menu
Not worth regular price, fridge wasn't working. Elevators were not working well. I liked the location.
Nice place to have a beer with a view on Manhattan. There are three different restaurant and the rooftop.
It was pretty nice at a good location. However the rooms were changed on us last minute with one upgrade except it took away a bed since we originally had doubles. Ended in a suite on a sofa bed.
