Yaya's Bakery reviews
15This place is a hidden gem, their tiramisu, tres leches and one of the Greek cakes that was super creamy was so good. Also their baklava is A+. Also the workers are super nice and friendly!
Absolutely great baklavas and even better portokalopita. Flavorful with just the right amount of sweetness.
The only place where i get my bread. Great service as well. If you go there before 10am you can buy the bread still hot from the oven.
Very good pastries, recommend the Apple pie, the cream puffs and their pizza was good too! Everything tasted very fresh and not stale
I really didn't want to leave this review because this place is locally famous and the people are friendly but I paid $6.50 for a bougatsa that was cold and tasted old. I am so disappointed.
Items are hit or miss- some of the pasteries were dry and flavorless and others pretty tasty (like the olive bread roll). Baklava was good but VERY sweet. I’d come here for some things but not everything.
So homey, and friendly. They gave my daughter a free cookie and their cherry pastries are especially good
Employees are super nice! Traditional Greek bakery and a neighborhood institution. I hope they stay open forever
This place is the best. It takes me back to being a little Greek boy. Even though I Never WAS One!
First time going, it won’t be my last! I bought the tiramisu cake & almond cookies. Both were 10/10. The best cookies and tiramisu I’ve had ever. I will be going back very soon!?
First time coming here. I tried the rice pudding and the bread pudding (pictured). The rice one was ok. BUT DAMN! That bread pudding was everything! The top wasn't too hard, just easy enough you can break it with a spoon. Best one I've had so far, top notch!
I've gotta go back try their other naked goods
Awesome Baklava and flan. Friendly staff and quick service. Our favorite dessert place in Astoria.
What a Great small genuine “ Greek “ owned local small business. I love going into places like this. Yaya herself works there in front of hot stove, kneading and baking Greek bread and Pastries. I got greek style turnover like cheese pie which is delish. I got baklava from her as well. I must say I had better baklava before. Her baklava is very soft and way to sweet for me. I like my Baklava crispy on the bottom soft inside and not to sweet. Nevertheless, I highly recommend this local place. Just a friendly warning, don’t ask her too many questions “IF” you have watch “ Soup Natzi “ on Seinfeld! You will find out what I mean!
Neighborhood gem. Love the rice pudding, spinach pie and baklava + always friendly staffs.
The best Greek bakery I have ever been to. I was once lucky enough to have tried a spanakopita made by my friend’s Yaya and finally after a long search I have a found a bakery where I can go and get it whenever I want…because my friend’s Yaya lives in Australia
This store isn’t flashy. It is homely, warm and inviting. The pies, the desserts and the people who work there are spectacular. Please visit this bakery and try anything from their menu. Nothing will disappoint you.
