I work with building departments all over NJ & NY. The worst experience ever. I had to submit paperwork 3 different times because they can’t tell me what they actually need up front. Without contacting you they don’t tell you there’s an issue, they just mail it back to whatever address they see fit so your left with trying to locate who received it. Every time I ask for any type of status, how long the permit will take to be issued they dismiss me and say they cannot say even tho they’ve had our hand delivered documents for a month now. They just transfer you to other people who have no idea what their doing. Literally a nightmare.

I can not see why tax payers money are been use to pay these people. The federal needs to investigate them. When you call them they make appointments with you, waste you time because they never show up. They government need to close this place down especially the one here in Yonkers. They sit in their office all day and do nothing but use our report to them to make money for themselves from the people whom we report. They are corrupt

Very slow, I have been waiting for a response for a permit for over two months now… Out of all the cities in Westchester, Yonkers is probably the slowest at releasing permits

How is it that this is the worst, most corrupt city to do construction. Getting permits is a nightmare that takes an eternity while neighboring cities issue them in literally a couple of days. The vioalations they issue are clear cash grabs as well. A serious overhaul is needed in yonkers dob. Can't revive yonkers if the people working in its hoverment are trying to keep it dead.

I have contacted this dept for very serious code violations zero response and if a response may take up to 6 mth for any response no organized response to the citizens this leadership must go starting wing antique process and mr Glasgow

I deal with all the different municipalities in Westchester for obtaining building permits. This is by far the absolute worst department and inspectors. It's no wonderer nobody wants to develop in Yonkers. Waiting over 1 year for a simple building permit.

I've been waiting on permits for 6 months, my architect says she's never seen a slower DOB and she is from the city!
