Za-Ya Ramen reviews
16 The ramen flavors were unusual and interesting. Beef bone broth was tasty but kind of one note. Egg was great.
But
Edamame and truffle don’t really play well.
Stay away from the arugula salad. That didn’t have salt at all and the texture was bad.
This beef ramen most have touched by the gods. The service was quick and friendly and sure the place is a bit on the smaller side, but its comfortable.
The noodles are extremely hard, the soup is oily, and the fried chicken is half-finished. Maybe it’s because foreigners have never eaten anything good. I don’t know why the rating is so high.
Overall, good local Ramen restaurant.
I didn't understand if it was the architecture concept or the place just old and not that clean l.
I order the
Kinpira (Spicy sauteed burdock and carrots / Lotus roots, chili) its basically like sushi but with lots of rice.
The Ramen was actually good.loved the Noodles, its a big portion
I would come there again
Attempted to get Za Ya ramen on a Sunday night after reading positive reviews. Ordered via Door Dash and the restaurant never prepared the food. My Dasher waited for 45 min for the order but it was never ready. I contacted support and called the restaurant multiple times to inquire but nobody answered. This is no way to run a business.
Really good bone broth. I wasn't flattered with the noodles or short rib. Noodles were undercooked, rib was overcooked. If you're looking for a general ramen spot, nothing to deter you away but there are so many ramen options in NYC, it's not a must visit.
The owner is not Japanese. As a Japanese person, their ramen doesn’t taste like authentic ramen. My ramen had weird ingridients. I have never seen cucumbers in ramen when I was in Japan.
Avoid here, it’s not worth it.
The place is super dark, too intimate a vibe for a bowl of ramen IMO BUT, the gyukotsu is SO delicious I can’t stop coming back…. Seriously I’m a ramen snob and this might be the best bowl I’ve ever had!
The Gyukatsu ramen was delicious, super creamy broth. Service was also great, overall excellent experience!
My experience here was regular…
The unagi pie came out excellent! Taste and temperature were top tier. However, the ramen was slightly underwhelming. Could have used more noodles and flavor.
The waitress was friendly and it wasn’t difficult to get her attention if need be.
The interior needs renovation for sure.
I would recommend this location for a casual quick bite and the Za-Ya in Brooklyn for a more upscale date night going out feel.
Great ramen. I LOVE ramen and this did not disappoint. Fantastic flavor good ratio of noodles to broth and tasty veggies (mushrooms in miso spicy veg were awesome) completely satisfied and will come back
I dont know if it's just me, and maybe it is, but the soup was salty this time around, and i thought my 2 yr old would love it since she loves noodles. To my surprise, she did not like it at all. The service was excellent. The waitress was super nice and pleasant.
The noodles are fried thin noodles like Kyushu ramen. The soup also looks cloudy like Kyushu Tonkotsu ramen, but it was Gyukotsu (beef bone broth) not Tonkotsu (pork bone broth), which made the ramen cleaner and tasty. If you know Japanese Gyukotsu ramen like clear consommé soup, their ramen is completely different and worth a try. I would definitely like to come back again.

I came back, and the Gyutan Ramen was amazing. The soup was bold and creamy as i expected, and the Gyutan (beef tongue) was chewy and delicious.
It's ramen shop and how it can take 30min to serve one bowl ramen.ramen is quick food if you wanna spend so much time to make food, please open different japanese food but not ramen.
Hands down my favorite ramen spot in all of New York. Great vibes, incredible ramen, and a fantastic drink selection. What more could you ask for? When I’m craving ramen, I’m always craving Za-Ya.
