Zero Dock Street Restaurant & Bar, Carthage NY

My friend and I were in Carthage on business and decided to stop for a bite at Zero Dock Street. We’d heard good things about it.

The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming. We were greeted and seated right away. Larkin was our super-friendly server. We wanted to get the duck bacon wontons for an app. “Don’t hate me, but we’re out of those today, ” she said. We wound up ordering the boneless chicken wings with mild sauce to split. It’s a good thing we decided to split them, because the portion was huge, like 13 pieces! We couldn’t finish them. They were delicious! The sauce had a tangy little kick to it. For my entree, I chose the broiled haddock with tots. There were a LOT of tots. Again, I couldn’t finish them all. My friend ordered the buffalo chicken mac and cheese bowl. Again, the portion was quite large. It was a very tasty dish; he said that the buffalo sauce from the chicken infused the pasta.

We had leftovers to take home, always a good thing. We will probably go back, if only to try those elusive duck bacon wontons!

Food is not that great, service took a long time to get drinks, and the prices are high. This was my experience earlier in the spring. I haven't been back to try again.

Went here on a beautiful Friday. Asked for outside seating their GORGEOUS outside upstairs patio is unavailable. We’re seated In An outside cave type area. The menu was not representative of the items we received. No water given no salt and pepper on tables My husband had the personal pizza which had excessive amounts of seasoning (dried herbs) and whole chucks of flavorless garlic within the dough, this was not mentioned on the menu. His chicken wings were dry. Our “loaded” fries were anything but loaded. Again dry just some sparse melted cheddar cheese and the bacon was tasty. We had to ask for ketchup! I had the shrimp tacos. Tacos were not assembled correctly with slaw beneath the shrimp tortillas were soggy and excessive given the one piece of shrimp in each taco. Not to mention the Martini had almost 0 liquor in It. DO NOT GO HERE. Complete let down.dissatisfied entirely.

Very disappointed. Beautiful atmosphere but restaurant is in the process of being a catering event only.

Menu was small and very confusing to read. The main chef was not accommodating. We all wanted 6 ounce sirloins which was offered on menu as a salad but they would only serve us 12 ounce sirloins.

Going to McDonald’s instead.

They get a 1 star rating for: lack of menu items, no awareness to customers that they were transitioning to a new style or service with them only doing catering events, they were out of a lot of menu items, service was very slow. Once seated we had to wait several minutes for a waitress even though it appeared we were one of the only customers in the restaurant at that time.

Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else in Watertown or JEBs in Lowville. Hope they can turn things around if not I don’t see them being in business much longer.

Went for brunch 4/2/23. The food was cold. French onion soup was warm but had no cheese or croutons. The rolls were hard and desert was dry and stale. The waitress was very nice and the atmosphere good, very nice building.

Went for wing night, hot honey was on point, so was the poutine and pizza, staff was excellent and attentive, will be returning for sure!

The Sunday brunch is delicious with a fantastic selection at a very affordable price! Beautiful and friendly atmosphere too!

Went there for a murder mystery dinner theater show with The Butler Did It Players and it was a super cool place! We didn't get to see the regular bar area downstairs much but it seemed nice.

I think they're changed chefs. Food used to be amazing. Clear whoever is on has lost their touch or is cutting corners. Prices up and quality down. Used to be homemade French fries, now frozen garbage. Gluten free buns used to be good, now different and not. Steak cooked to the point of being dry (despite a wine reduction that wasn't really a reduction) when ordered medium rare. Unfortunate. Server was understanding but only so much you can do. Menu reads well and decor/atmosphere is good but quality of food has declined. Unfortunately we had this experience two times. Not sure if we'll give it a third go or not. Sad because we used to enjoy it. Hope the owners have a real heart to heart with the chefs and look at the quality of the food they're producing.
I say this in the kindest way possible because I want to see them succeed. I definitely don't expect frozen food when I go out to eat. Even Five Guys doesn't cut these corners.

One of our newest soldiers lives in Carthage, and we wanted to have a welcoming meal for him. Upon searching up places to eat, Zero Dock Street Restaurant and Bar popped up and looked promising. Now, I can't speak for how things are during dinner hours, but during lunch, it was nice and quiet. We were quickly seated when we entered, and the staff was very friendly.

This being our first visit here, we decided to order a few items. We ordered the Stuffed Jalapeños, Sweet Potato Skins, Calamari Tower, Onion Ring Tower, Buffalo Chicken Pizza, Beech Hill Burger and the Build Your Own Burger. Everything was cooked to our liking and we all left satisfied.

Told out of chowder then table near ordered and received after us. Bigger concern though waitress left unused plate and utensils on table after clearing as customers left. Also did not wipe or disinfect table at all! Big no no this day n age. Also never received a customer copy of receipt.

If you are in Carthage, you must dine at this amazing establishment. The rustic decor, comfortable, inviting atmosphere, and culinary cuisine are exactly what makes this place a wonderful dining experience. I had the opportunity to meet these two lovely ladies, pillars of the community. We are a better America with ladies of this calibre. Thank-you for the unforgettable evening!

I went for a work event and the upstairs was beautifully renovated with lots of space. The staff did a great job and the food was delicious.
