Zia Maria Chelsea reviews
11I loved the specialty of the house highly recommended, a quiet place, good music and above all relaxed
Far to expensive. The Pizza was good, but the prices are hillarious. Reserved via opentable, the prices stood there half as high. Can't recommend.
Everything was fabulous. The chicken Parm was killer. It was satisfying and of great portion. Service was great!
Unfortunately, they can't have the dine-in option we chose as of yesterday. The place is pleasant and relaxing. We were two of at most five diners. The wait staff was always available and affable. The Caprese salad had flavorful tomatoes bathed in balsamic and olive oil with lots of shredded basil. We were surprised to get a ball of mozzarella instead of the usual slices for this dish. The cheese was tasty, but my husband didn't like the grainyness of the interior. Linguini Vongele had excellent flavors and a good number of clams, but some of the grit from the shells settled in the sauce. The veal Parmigiano was excellent, but my husband wasn't keen on the marina sauce on the accompanying pasta. My husband tried a merlot that he didn't like. He switched to shiraz, which had an off taste. The waiter agreed and opened a fresh bottle. The wine from the new bottle was fine. They had a steady stream of customers coming in to pick up meals, including pizzas, so the place definitely has a following. Hope they can stay afloat. The only thing holding us back from saying we would definitely return is the prices for everything seemed about three to five dollars more than the value.
We had a great dinner at Zia Maria, with a big table for 10 outside (COVID times.). Food was excellent and service was outstanding. Definitely recommended
Have ordered take out a lot lately - the lasagna is so good and reasonably priced. Big portion lasts me multiple meals. Highly recommend.
Great food. Lovely attentive staff. The night I was there there was a singer doing Sinatra classics. It was raining but they put a special tent over us and even hung plants around us. Was perfect.
I’m just going to paste what I wrote in a real “Italian Recipe” where folks from Italy and those that make true Italian dishes. Because this is unacceptable in every restaurant possible. Just disgusting.
“Okay! I need to know if there’s any real Italians that can distinguish this dish. Supposedly, it’s authethic. This is not a local dish, nor a local restaurant, but Lord help me, I was undermined by the server, which I was absolutely still polite to (shocker), because it wasn’t his fault. But he instead responded, “You may have been use to it another way. ” This was the response I received when I didn’t taste one hint of lemon in the pasta and requested lemon wedges. When tasting the chicken, I only tasted scrambled eggs. I couldn’t do it. I told him I just can’t. His response, “You do know it’s made with eggs? ! ” Second mistake in response. ‘I know how it’s made. I knoooow! But I shouldn’t taste scrambled eggs instead of chicken! ’
Ladies and gentlemen, Chicken Francese
Now can you tell me, how you make yours? — at Zia Maria. ”
Honestly, the only complaint was the lies regarding alcohol. I ordered a Stella during happy hour and a Budweiser was poured. Then a girl in my party ordered a Chianti at the server’s recommendation and some red blend I couldn’t discern was poured. Kinda b*s
I came from queens and the service was great! Leo was my server and he was the best. Made my experience great, super kind and welcoming. The food was exquisite. Recommend coming here.
Waiter was friendly. Didn't know if it was because I came right after phase 2 of COVID but the food wasnt as good as I imagined. If I was going to be paying 20 dollars for a plate of pasta I would want it to be at least good but the food mostly was mediocre at best. I would say the Polenta and the Arancini was good. The calamari was not at par and clams were far from fresh and tasted pretty gross. Although waiter did warn us not to get it- but if you arent selling fresh clams then why even sell it? I got the pappardelle al funghi which was drenched in cream and fat which was actually the better of the bunch. The penne alla vodka was over sweetened like I was going to have a heart attack eating it from all the sugar and I was even wondering if they accidentally dumped way more sugar on the penne vodka than needed- but the person eating it on my table was ok with it so I didnt make any judgement. But as I said, it is edible but not quality food. I would never come back here. Any place charging 15+ for a plate of pasta better be better than Vapiano because that is a way better choice for cheaper and fresher pasta.
